We are super proud to be sponsoring tonight’s Halloween trail in the village, organised by two of our lovely commitee members

17:00 - party starts / games
18:00 fancy dress judging
18:30 (ish) the big set off to trick or treat our way home

Don’t forget to only knock on houses clearly decorated and lit up, paying extra care not to bother those with the signs up requesting no trick or treaters

Dont forget your handmade Halloween lanterns - see you there

What a beautiful crisp autumnal morning! The cakes are baking, the traders sorting their stock, the bunnies are being brushed and the cider is mulling! Looking forward to seeing you all at the Michaelmas’s fayre today!

We will have card machines but unsure of the signal in the church yard and encourage as many people to walk as parking is extremely limited!

Michaelmas fair - but what is Michaelmas?

“An annual feast day, and 'quarter day' in the calendar, of the Western Christian Church, Michaelmas is celebrated on September 29th. It takes its name from the Archangel Michael, the leader of heaven's armies and the angel who defeated Lucifer”

Regardless of individual religious beliefs Michaelmas denotes the end of summer, the harvest and supports feasting and socialising - echo’d in our fair. We also collect donations of food which will be given to a local food bank after the event, so With hot cider, harvest veg, local produce, music and animals it’s a wonderful way to mark the shift into autumn within the village.

Hello!!
Hope everyone is having a fabulous Summer so far....!
We've got 2 events coming up...
Pram Race on August 26th, Bank Holiday Monday
And,
Michaelmas Fayre on Saturday 28th September.

Our next CARNIVAL MEETING is on MONDAY 12th AUGUST...yes, after this weekend....and we'd love you to join us for a drink at the Working Men's Club at 7.15pm.

Lots of fun, ideas and updates on these events and for the start of next year's Celebrations for the 90th Anniversary of the Carnival Association.

If you would like to help us get the Carnival Floats Procession back to Ninfield next year, or have any other suggestions, please come and see us, or get in touch.

The first Fête income number crunching has resulted in an increase in takings from last year, and all 'departments' were UP!!!
THANK YOU TO ALL WHO CAME TO THE FÊTE!!
Final figures will be available at the next meeting in August, and Full Accounts for the year at our AGM in October, when Charity and Local donations will be finalised, and where there will also be decisions, and changes, on committee positions, and ideas put forward for 2025.

Your Carnival Needs You!!

It'll be our 90th year Anniversary next year, and we would like to reinvent the CARNIVAL FLOATS PROCESSION as part of the Celebrations. If you'd be interested in helping with this, please get in touch, or come up and say hello at the Pram Race on 26th August.

We are also very keen to find as many pictures, reports, documents about the Carnival & Sports Association over the 90 years, and will be looking to Archive, and show, as much as possible from now until the event next summer.
