Po Midwinter - Humanist Wedding & Funeral Celebrant Down to Earth, Humanist Ceremonies for All Seasons

I am a down-to-earth celebrant that not only writes incredibly imaginative ceremonies, but also delivers them with panache; by actively listening to everything that my cient wants.

One of the best things about being a Humanist Celebrant is the network. We have local groups who get together to support each other and put the world to rights, but we also have a regional network. On Saturday the Eastern Region came together for a day of CPD! We were lucky enough to have Suzanne Arnold lead us in a session of examining 'holding the space' and really unpack what it is we do, how we do it and why it is so important. We shared a magnificent lunch and afterwards had some time to share marketing tips and discuss our plans for the year ahead. I can't wait for the next one!

Today I had the great honour of delivering a Celebration of Life for Dorothy Steele. She ran a Montessori Nursery in Beccles for years and was well known and well loved. We enjoyed poems, music, stories and an amazing video legacy created by her daughter. The Pavilion is a beautiful venue and there were no spare seats!

Matt and Laura married today neath the shade of a mighty chestnut tree. The ceremony was filled with love and a few tears, a meaningful ring exchange and certificate signing. The weather held and we all enjoyed ourselves. Laura attended a high school that I taught at, and Matt has been my brother's friend for a very long time, and I used to hang out with Matt's sister Paula at school too, so today was pretty special! After the ceremony we enjoyed canapes made by groomsman Al, which were delicious. I slipped away as they were heading in to eat, filled up with love and light and laughter. I just know they'll be having the best time tonight!

It is always wonderful to read reviews of your work which are as glowing as this. I really enjoyed creating this funeral ceremony and the feedback is so beautiful, I am so grateful.

It is often difficult to choose a celebrant as, hopefully, you will not require their services very often. This wonderful lady was recommend by the funeral director, when we asked. Cynics would say the funeral director was getting a fee for recommendation but this is certainly not the case. They want a good, professional celebrant as an integration to their business.

Po came to our house and spent 2-3 hours listening to us talk about my Mother, who had passed away. Po also noted the type of service we wanted. Everyone will have their own requirements. A draft script was sent for our perusal. It also included the order of service and what would happen, which was a huge help. I was amazed as to how much Po had written and only a few minor changes were needed.

The service was wonderful. Po encapsulated everything about my Mother, almost bringing her alive in the room, with her delivery. People attending commented how lovely it was.

I highly recommend Po Midwinter, Celebrant. She is kind, thoughtful and will help make your farewell to a loved one something special, at your time of sadness.

Today I had the great honour of being the Celebrant for Chris and Gemma. As she walked in, Chris, his sister Netty and I all teared up! This wedding has been a long time in the making and we savoured every word and moment. Rings were exchanged, a unity candle was lit and a certificate signed. We brought both Mums' names into the room and had a moment to remember them. There was the biggest, warmest applause as they walked back down the aisle.
Many thanks to the staff at the Holiday Inn Norwich North, especially Nat and Gemma.
