Today, in front of 300 friends and family, with people standing at the back, Beth and James had the most joyous ceremony.
💕The setting, under an oak tree, put us in mind of strength and longevity
💕Rings had been handmade and included silver from Beth's Grandmother's ring
💕 Vows were top secret and neither bride or groom knew what each other would say
💕 The handfasting cords were really ornate and symbolically coloured
💕 Readings were shared by friends and family and made everyone a bit weepy
💕 The speeches were amazing, a specially written song, a speech sent over from Kenya and a test whether the bride was under the spell of a love wizard, and we all saw a 'spirit' leave the bride! it was very dramatic (and excellent pyrotechnics!)
💕 Instead of throwing confetti at the bride and groom, everyone threw it up in the air and we had a confetti explosion!
What a beautiful wedding to end the season on.

A very happy return to Captain Wood's Barn, for the emotional ceremony for Caitlin and Ben. Caitlin walked down the aisle to a recording of her singing Wonderwall as a surprise to Ben. There were tears as both daughters read readings, and more tears as Caitlin and Ben made vows to each other's children before they made vows to each other. It was a lovely idea and it worked really well. We finished with a VERY long confetti corridor of overjoyed family and friends, then off to the lawn we went for Cloudy Apple cocktails or Kir Royale. I left them chatting, laughing and having a wonderful time in the sunshine, as every single child there clambered into the tractor trailer for a trip round the woods! The squeals could be heard from miles away!
Congratulations Caitlin and Ben!

So today goes like this. Video version.
Tom: Think the weather will be okay.
Po: Me too, let's go for it outdoors.
*Pops off to ceremony space to set up and revel in sunny spots dancing on the floor*
Ceremony starts.
Rain starts.
Umbrellas up. Ring warming starts.
Po: (5 minutes in) ...and marriage holds for us special, heightened moments ⚡⚡💥💥💥BOOM 💥💥💥 ⚡⚡
Gulp!
Keep going.
⚡⚡💥💥💥BOOM 💥💥💥 ⚡⚡
Rest of the ceremony under cover!
Emily and Tom weren't phased by the weather, and the photographers @chrisbradshaw and @dennywrightphoto will have half the photos in sun and the other half in rain! I can't wait to see them.
We were lucky to have @threemilehillband there to entertain us, to play the bride in and the happy couple out!
Thank you to @captainswoodbarn - what a beautiful location. They're fully booked all through 2024-25 but do ask them about 2026 - it's a very special place.

Today I had the enormous pleasure of doing a wedding ON A BOAT. I was quite ridiculously excited about it and squealed with excitement at regular intervals. The staff at Broads Tours , especially our Skipper Kieran, worked so hard to make Tori & Kev's wedding such a special day. 🚢
I particularly loved the ice cream boat pulling up alongside us, we each had a tub of ice cream 🍦
The ceremony had to take place in the bar, rather than the open top, as our English weather had sent cloud and a chill wind to us, but we were very cosy downstairs and the ceremony was filled with lots of love and much raucous laughter. 💕
The scenery was idyllic and everyone had such a lovely time together. I gave out my card to a potential wedding, and got pre-booked for a funeral 🤣
Huge Congratulations to Tori and Kev, who will right now be dancing their socks off with their reception band, I know you're going to be so happy together ❣️

The rain stopped before the ceremony began, but there wasn't a dry eye in the house as Jo & Jack literally tied the knot today. Their knot was a spectacular affair, and each parent added a ribbon. Their secret vows landed in my inbox 48 hours before the ceremony (phew!) and they chose to sign a Humanist Wedding Certificate too. Celebrant weddings give you the freedom to have the ceremony you want, and changes can be made easily and with no fuss. They were ear to ear smiles as I left and I know they're going to have the best time tonight!
Huge thanks to Jessica at High House Weddings for looking after all of us!
