🏳️‍🌈 DARWEN PRIDE 2024 🏳️‍🌈

Darwen will be celebrating its first ever Pride event on Saturday 13th July 🤩

An organising committee has been working hard to bring this event to Darwen Market Square.

You can expect to see a jam-packed live stage programme from 12pm until 10pm with performances from Free Spirit, Rachel Toner, Sarah Lego Lewis, Vintage Fusion, Lea Howarth and Liam Halewood as Boy George. Guest drag DJs will also entertain the crowd, Nicki French will be headlining the event and Patty Dale will be the host for the day 🎭🎤💃

There will be outdoor market stalls, food vendors, a bar by Sunbird Records, and a wide range of family friendly activities; including a teddy bear’s picnic! 🧸🎪

Come along and enjoy the fun and friendly atmosphere! 💚

At on Saturday, we held a short period of silence to remember the victims of homophobic and hate crime. Rather sadly, these two gentlemen were seriously assaulted on the way home after a night out. We wish them a full and quick recovery, and justice prevails!

A man “feared for his life” after he and his boyfriend were attacked outside Blackburn train station, leading to eight people being arrested.

Blackburn town centre welcomed its third annual pride celebration yesterday with music, colours and crowds

Well, that's Blackburn Pride over with for another year.

And we just want to say a massive thanks to all who braved the rain on the parade and stayed with us as it brightened up later in the day. Some great local talent on the stage and the Silent Disco was a great success too.

Fantastic to see so many colourful stalls.

A big thank you also to all our sponsors, and to TecAudio, Prestige Security, Blackburn Police, Blackburn Fire & Rescue, Blackburn Museum, BwD Council, King George’s Hall, all the performers and a big thank you to our fantastic host, Tinker Paradise.
