As Christmas is almost upon us again, it’s a particularly poignant time for those of us who have lost dearest family and friends. ‘Gone but not forgotten’ is a phrase we’ve heard many times, but is sooooo true, as those we love will always be with us in our hearts. Wishing you all a happy, peaceful Christmas with those you love, whether physically or in spirit.

Conducting the wedding celebration of Gina and Sean on Saturday, the weather might not have been the best outside, but inside The Barlow, the atmosphere was warm, welcoming and absolutely buzzing as we waited for our beautiful bride. We weren’t disappointed, and Gina - and Sean - as you can see, both looked wonderful! A fantastic couple with very close families, they themselves set the tone for the day, and the occasion was both touching and sincere, and also a lot of fun! We wish you both all the best for the future Gina and Sean, and in the years to come 💖💖xx

Totally agree with this…..So many times about the words spoken at a funeral service and the celebration of life get-together which follows, I hear ‘so and so would have loved this….!’

There is such a thing as a ‘living funeral’……not as morbid as it sounds, just a party where people get up to speak, and your loved one gets to hear just how much they are loved and valued…..we take it for granted they know, but life is so busy, we don’t always take the time to tell them 💙xx

This weekend I had the privilege of conducting the very special marriage celebration of Clare and Alex; special for all the usual joyous reasons of a wedding day, but also special because they tied the knot in their beautiful home. It was a wonderfully relaxed and intimate atmosphere as they made their promises to each other…..and of course, with Clare’s creative talent and attention to detail, a fabulous venue. Even the sun shone! ☀️☀️ We wish our beautiful bride and groom much happiness in their life together, and thanks again Clare and Alex, for choosing me to be a part of your special day; it truly was a pleasure 💕💕💕xx

To celebrate the ‘first’ of any occasion without someone we love is heartbreaking, especially our mum on that first Mother’s Day….she’s someone with whom we share the deepest human bond ❤️ So it’s nice to know your familys’ words say everything you want them to when you say goodbye….

Thank you once again to the many of you, who, like the family below, have taken the time to write and let me know how happy you were with the tribute we put together….it’s as important to me as it is to you ❤️🙏xx

I’ve been privileged to help a lot of families say a meaningful goodbye to loved ones this year….heartbreaking at any time of the year, but at Christmas it always seems so much harder to bear….though we say goodbye physically, I truly believe that those we love remain with us….in spirit, and in our memories, but most of all through the love we’ve shared ❤️❤️❤️

Coming to the end of another year….it’s been a busy one in more ways than one, and as usual, I’ve failed miserably in keeping up on social media…..but couldn’t let the year go by without mentioning Janine and Jonny’s wedding in September…..obviously, a very special day, but having been postponed 3 times due to the Covid situation, and now on their fourth date, it was an even bigger celebration! Jonny looked handsome, Janine was stunning, and their children were gorgeous - and so well-behaved 💕 Everyone was so happy for them, and to use an old cliche, ‘you could feel the love in the room’! I feel Janine and Jonny themselves set the tone for this, and my favourite photo is the one taken during the ceremony, where despite all their guests, and me stood in front of them, they are ‘sharing a moment’…..beautiful! Your first Christmas as husband and wife, and I wish you your lovely family, many more…..Merry Christmas! 🎄🎅🎁🥂###x
