To celebrate Rosh Hashanah, we have extended our hours across 23rd - 27th September and have same day delivery available throughout Hertfordshire!

Who are Sunnyside Rural Trust?

Sunnyside Rural Trust is a thriving charity and social enterprise offering training and work experience for vulnerable people. They train people with learning disabilities to acquire skills in a number of rural activities. These include beekeeping, looking after chickens, growing a wide range of plants and produce, landscaping and garden maintenance.

They have a focus on the full “plot to plate” cycle, from sowing seeds and nurturing plants to making produce to sell in the farm shop or market. They do all of this as environmentally friendly as possible.

“Our track record has proven that we are very good at spotting trainee’s strengths and skills. We build on their strengths and positively encourage them to develop their potential; at a pace that suits them. This provides trainees with a huge sense of achievement and the confidence to continue learning and developing. They soon discover that their ability is greater than their disability.“

Here are our 3 top tips for caring for your hanging baskets at home… 🌸

💧 Water Often. Hanging baskets and flower planters typically need more water than flowers in a garden. Water them later in the day when there’s no direct sunshine on them to avoid scorching the petals and leaves.

🌸 Dead head. As the flowers die, be sure to remove them by pinching them off where they meet the stem. Not only does this make your baskets look better, but it also encourages more blooms.

🌺 Rotate your hanging baskets around. If you notice the one or two of your baskets are doing better than the others, try rotating their location if possible so that they all get a good dose of sunshine.
