With this lovely sunny weather why not consider a trip to Bridgnorth for this year’s 30th English Haydn Festival from Wednesday 12th June to Saturday 15th June. The opening night features opera arias from Haydn’s popular operas Orlando Paladino and Armida and with a wonderful line up of talented soloists promises to be a wonderful evening.

We are celebrating 30 years of the English Haydn Orchestra performing at the Festival this year and today we received some exciting news of a grant from the Continuo Foundation which supports period instruments ensembles and acknowledges the contribution of the English Haydn Orchestra to the promotion of music by classical era composers with period instrument performances.

He really played the cello. One of his favorites was the Haydn C major and he played Beethoven 5 in the orchestra of Trinity College

This year’s Festival is nearly here! The Acton Round concert is sold out but tickets available for all other concerts. Book now to hear Crispian Steele-Perkins performing Haydn’s Trumpet Concerto at the opening concert on Wednesday 8th June at 7.30pm. This year’s 28th English Haydn Festival will take place from Tuesday 7th June until Saturday 11th June. Leaflets with the programme and booking details will be available early March.

We did it! An amazingly surreal day of concerts in St Mary’s Church. The atmosphere was electric as finally both the players and audience were once again able to enjoy live music. Thank you to everyone who helped make this day possible.

The one day event on Saturday 11th September 2021, in St Mary's Church, Bridgnorth, incorporates a lunchtime concert by the Consone Quartet, and an evening orchestral concert featuring music by Beethoven and Haydn in celebration of Beethoven's 250th anniversary year.
