Inspired by the early house and techno sounds emanating from Detroit & Chicago, cities where he resided for extended periods, Chris Anglesey aka Deep House Soldier made the transition from dancefloor to DJ in the late 90’s. Gigs at raves in Detroit and Sheffield were followed by the foundation of the short lived, but infamous, Prescription night in Manchester where he spun alongside internationally renowned DJ’s such as Chez Damier & Greg Wilson.
This current mix blends together some of the Soldier’s greatest influences, from deep house and disco classics, psychedelic themed Chicago jack-trax, sleazy ghetto-tech, whilst finishing off with a healthy dose of Glenn Underground’s Strictly Jaz Unit.
Modus Operandi: Fighting bad music... one mix at a time.

Luke Duncanson aka Systemthink has been djing and promoting events since 2003, playing his first serious gig for a small bar in Parga, Greece. Originally from Lincolnshire in the UK, he grew up influenced by Skate culture and Dub Reggae which were booming during the late 90s. From there, as many other teenagers at the time he fell in love with the well established movements of UK Jungle, Drum & Bass and Breakbeat Hardcore. Without YouTube or Spotify, he researched and discovered most of the underground sounds through pirate cassettes and rave tape packs from Dreamscape and Pleasuredome. Later, he got caught up with the exotic emerging sounds of Industrial and Techno which eventually led him to the original Detroit Techno sound. All these influences through time translate into his sound being full of bass, energetic and well paced as original Techno should be. As a good gear freak he is, you can find him currently locked in his studio working on the next releases.

The legendary yet visionary Detroit.
Detroit, known as the “Motor City”, was the heart of the American automobile industry.
However, by the 1970s and 1980s the city faced severe economic challenges due to the decline of this industry. This decline led to significant job losses, urban decay and population decline, particularly affecting the African American community.
Despite economic hardships, Detroit remained a vibrant cultural melting pot. The city had a rich musical heritage, including Motown, jazz, and funk, which significantly influenced the development of Detroit techno. Also, a local radio called The Electrifying Mojo played a pivotal role by exposing to the youth, European bands like Kraftwerk.
The Belleville Three (Juan Atkins, Derrick May and Kevin Saunderson) are often credited with creating techno. They met in high school in Belleville, a suburb of Detroit and shared a passion for electronic music.
Inspired by the futuristic sounds of Kraftwerk, Giorgio Moroder, and Yellow Magic Orchestra, they began experimenting with synthesisers, drum machines and sequencers to create a new kind of music.
Juan Atkins, often referred to as the “Godfather of Techno”, formed the group Cybotron with Richard Davis. Their track “Clear” (1983) is considered one of the first techno records.
The 1990s saw a new wave of Detroit techno artists, including Jeff Mills, Richie Hawtin, Robert Hood, Carl Craig, Octave One, Stacey Pullen, Kenny Larkin, Theo Parrish, Moodymann and the Underground Resistance (UR) collective formed by Mike Banks which embodied the militant and politically conscious side of Detroit techno.
Their music often carried messages of social change and empowerment, reflecting the struggles of the city’s African American community. UR’s hard-hitting sound and DIY ethos influenced a new generation of techno artists.
Detroit techno is a testament to the resilience and creativity of its artists, who transformed their socio-economic struggles into groundbreaking music. The genre’s emphasis on futuristic sounds and technology reflects a desire to transcend the hardships of the present and envision a better future.
Detroit is indeed the birthplace of techno.

Passwar D is an alien frequency being who fell to Earth from outer space. Currently based in New York, this alien frequency is surprisingly fascinated by human experiences and the complex emotions they evoke, it wires itself through human imagination and creates sonic art forms to articulate its earthly observations.
Passwar D’s boundless LP release The Dead Of Synthetic Prosody is a mesmerizing blend of cutting-edge dance floor rhythms and immersive soundscapes that oscillate between the up-beat energy of a rave and the contemplative atmosphere of an art space. The LP has also been described as “transcending time” by 432Hz Social Club, and “representing information codes from another planet” by Industrial Complexx.
Passwar D’s forthcoming debut album Personal Cosmology was premiered at Teorema Festival Barcelona and the artist/alien is scheduled to land in Europe for a few dates until the end of the year. This particular mix was recorded in Bulgaria during a live performance at Absinthe Bar, Plovdiv.

DJ Risk’s major risk is to make us dream. His sound lets you dream with your brain awake. His sets are an absolute journey driven by your subconscious and yet he doesn’t have to be the typical hands in the air DJ. His music asks permission to your mind first and without expecting it, your body is already in a trance state, 100% under his commands. Risk is a complete music priest and whilst some people go to the church on Sundays for relief, some others just follow his mesmerism.
