⭐️ HOLIDAAAAAY! ⭐️

I’m downing tools for a few weeks of sunshine in Sri Lanka!

I am checking emails but only twice a day (I’ve even taken them off my phone so I can attempt relaxation, which is a bit of a stretch given it’s the busiest wedding enquiry month of the year 🙃)

I’ll get back to you as soon as I can, although likely not as speedily as usual. And SOZ if you were the lucky recipient of my out of office, which embarrassingly decided to send an unsolicited humble brag “I’m having a great time on holiday, I’ll get back to you soon” email to the last 100 people I’ve emailed - for no apparent reason ✌🏻 Thanks Apple Mail!

⭐️WEDDING DOGGOS⭐️

If you’re in doubt about how awesome it is to have your four legged friends at your wedding, check these photos of Kate and Max with the ever so handsome Hamish. He was a very good boy indeed, and squealed with excitement when he saw his mum coming down the aisle 💔

There are so many ways to include dogs. They can act as a ring bearer, have their own canine certificate signing and take part in your vows. I’ve even done a wedding before where a dog could bark on command to each line in the vows!

⭐️KATE & MAX⭐️

A look back at Kate & Max's late September wedding at in London

It was a pleasure to be a part of their day. The ceremony was intimate, beautiful and very romantic.

Set in the stunning Two Temple Place, when they saw this place they fell in love. It was originally the office of New Yorker William Waldorf Astor, back when he was the richest man in the world. When they heard about this connection, bridging the gap between their respective American and British lineages, if I like the perfect spot for the occasion.

A highlight was also getting to meet their cocker spaniel Hamish (my favourite breed…and he didn’t disappoint!)

We honestly cannot thank Roxy enough for making our day so special.

From the initial call with her we loved her down to earth, friendly approach and knew that we wanted her to lead our ceremony.

All the way throughout the process she gave us tips and inspiration for the day and was just a joy to talk to.

On the day she captured our journey perfectly and most of all made the ceremony fun which is all we really wanted - it was one of our favourite parts of the day and we couldn't stop smiling and laughing the whole time.

⭐️WANT TO BECOME A WEDDING CELEBRANT?⭐️

Being a celebrant is a great job. You get to meet and fly alongside couples preparing to get married and stand with them as they experience one of the most magical moments

BUT...

The actual ceremony itself is just "front of house". Behind-the-scenes, running your own business alone is a tough feat. There's marketing, accounts, admin, social media management, website updates and maintenance, script writing, coordinating and much much more

As someone who mentors several other celebrants a year for Humanist UK, I am very pro others doing the same. But my latest blog shares an honest look at what being a celebrant truly involves, because lots of people go into it and ask me about the role without really understanding what it takes
