I can’t believe it has already been 3 weeks since Holly and James’ wedding day. It was my first wedding of the 2024 summer season and what a treat it was! These two were after a laid back, fun but heartfelt ceremony and this is exactly what was delivered by sharing their story which was followed with a reading, ‘A wedding Prayer’ by Ben Okri, delivered beautifully by Holly’s mum. Holly and James also decided to include a sing along which celebrated their friends and family. Can you guess the song chosen? Yep, it was ‘You’ve got a Friend in Me’ by Randy Newman and these guys absolutely smashed it! 🎵

Sneak peak 👀

I have spent this evening basking in golden sunshine at in Firle, East Sussex for the rehearsal of Emma and Rohan’s ceremony ahead of their big day tomorrow.

The ceremony is taking place in the ultra beautiful walled garden which, at this time of year, is simply bursting with colour. This is going to be one stunning spot for a wedding 💜

Despite not being present himself tomorrow, a certain feline will be making a solid appearance throughout the day. A fur baby known for his attitude and his fur balls, Eddy is one charismatic cat. I don’t think there can be anything more comforting on your wedding day then feeling as though you are stood before your loved ones for your ceremony with a celebrant who is one of your tribe and who understands you as well as your guests.

One of the benefits of having me as a celebrant is that we have the beauty of time. Time to get to know each other and figure out exactly what you want your ceremony to be so that I can craft it into something oh so very you 💜

Last week I found myself at the beautiful in Hellingly, East Sussex, for a wedding and was absolutely blown away with this stunning sunset over the grounds, ready and waiting for that perfect snap of the newlyweds 📷 - how gorgeous is this?! 😍

Drama Queen 👑

It’s been a big weekend with International Women’s Day and, of course, Mother’s Day yesterday and I was blessed to spend the weekend with some fabulous, strong and frankly inspirational females as we took to the stage to perform an adult version of the pantomime The Sleeping Beauty with LADS at to raise funds for local charities.

Performing on stage whether in pantomimes, concerts or musicals has been something I have loved to do since I was a kid and has definitely been one of the reasons I have become a Celebrant in adult life!

This year we treaded the boards in support of and the Sasha Robert’s Scholarship Fund whilst entertaining the Lewes masses with a complete s**t fest of a show 💁🏼‍♀️

Is there a better way to spend a weekend before wedding season kicks off?!

What does this gal get up to when she’s not creating highly personal, super fun wedding ceremonies for fabulous humans?

Well, one of my favourite things is getting out into the landscape with my family, friends and the furry one. We are so so lucky here on the coast of East Sussex to be blessed with some simply stunning places to spend some time.

This particular spot offers the most spectacular views across the Seven Sisters and on a sunny day like today I revel in feeling so small against the vastness of nature. There’s something so grounding about that fact!

Last weekend I trotted up to London for a fabulous day out with some friends to see my first West End show in over a year and boy was it a good’un!! In fact, I would go as far as to say it may actually be one of the best shows I have EVER seen. It was SENSATIONAL. Filled to the brim with extraordinary talent, wit, brilliant songs and punchy, emotive messaging - it was 90 minutes of pure joy 🤩

What made the show even better is the fact that the set (a pub) is fixed for the duration and opens as a bar pre-performance so you can head onto the stage and grab a pint. If this wasn’t enough, if you were seated in the stalls, there were packets of crisps being flung into the audience and more pints thrust upon you by members of the cast 🍻

After the show we filed out through a different doorway we hadn’t previously noticed and found ourselves in the who make delicious cocktails .. and it was happy hour… need I say more?! 🍹 💁🏼‍♀️

I’m always looking for good recommendations so let me know if there are other shows that you think are an absolute must see??

Becoming a celebrant remains one of the best things I have ever chosen to do for myself and is something that continues to bring me so. much. joy ✨

Crafting my little business has been a huge learning curve but I have learnt so much about myself and, in doing so, formed a brand I am so proud of 🥰

Here’s to many more years of crafting super special, giggle inducing, full of feels wedding ceremonies for fabulous humans 🤩

As the wind howls and the rain hammers the windows of our hilltop home, I’m feeling super warm and cosy by the 🔥 as I look back through photos of a very special ceremony I conducted this time last year in Carcassonne in the South of France. Sophie and Quentin have been close friends of mine since our university days at Uni Sussex and so it meant the 🌎 to be asked to write and deliver their wedding ceremony in October 2022 💜

It was such a beautiful day and one that offered so many firsts for me as a celebrant. From the couple arriving together and greeting their guests ahead of the ceremony, to navigating the challenges of a bilingual wedding that included live performance and speeches in both English and French; it was a wedding that defied ordinary convention but reflected Soph and Quen perfectly. So many of their friends and families were involved and offered their part which resulted in a day that truly offered all the feels and will forever be etched on my heart 🥰

Saturday’s ceremony with this gorgeous pair was the BEST! 🥰 It was a little damp under the trees in the half hr before the ceremony started but we were all stoically British and prepared to continue under umbrellas. However, the SECOND Vic arrived the clouds literally parted and we were bathed in beautiful dappled sunshine and searching for rainbows!! 🌈 This one was a proper giggle and we all had a lot of fun reminiscing about all of the slightly chaotic times that have shaped the most amazing love story for these two wonderful humans ❤️

I had a fabulous day on Saturday at the ever stunning for the wedding ceremony of Vix and Sam 🧡

It was a little breezy but the weather held out and we were able to continue with an outdoor ceremony as planned 🙏
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This time the ceremony included a first for me as Vix and Sam started things with a sing along to Robbie Williams’ Angels which was led by 2 of their friends. These two have the most wonderful friends and family who all joined in and we really did have so much fun together 💫

Saturday was also my birthday and this wonderful pair blessed me with a lovely card and a pair of stunning candles that blend with my birthday gladioli beautifully 😍 Feeling ever so blessed to have this job and to meet such wonderful people 🥰

Had a fabulous time yesterday at a brand new venue for me for the wedding of Beth & Dan. A very intimate venue on the beach at Saltdean, East Sussex with a fabulous panoramic view of the 🌊. The ceremony itself was a blast. These two are big lovers of a party and the ceremony was just that from start to finish with Ibiza classics pumping out as background music before Beth arrived and guests sitting comfortably with a drink in hand throughout. The script perfectly balanced both the fun loving nature of these two (with so many laughs as their story was told) and the beautifully sentimental as Beth & Dan decided to include a hand tying using a cord Beth had braided herself. Perfection 👌 💜

Cannot believe it’s been nearly 3 weeks already since the wedding of these two beautiful souls. It really was a perfect day. A little breezy but that didn’t interfere with the laughs or the feels.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
R & C decided against a traditional ceremony and scrapped the vows and the ring exchange opting, instead, for a highly symbolic hand tying followed by a toast to their marriage with their guests using a quaich (loving cup). It was different and it was joyful and summed up what a celebrant ceremony offers; a wedding that is deeply personal yet so much fun 💖

Looking for something different to make your ceremony pop? What about a sand ceremony?

Each person involved in the relationship is symbolised by a different coloured sand. Each colour is poured together into one central container. As those coloured grains of sand join, they can never again be separated back into their individual parts but their colours remain true to themselves and do not change or blend. It’s a beautiful way to symbolise your coming together in marriage whilst honouring each individual in that bond ♥️

Finally getting into the Christmas spirit this weekend 🎄 Had a fab time yesterday morning taking part in a wreath making workshop with a small group of friends. It was amazing to be able to come together in a socially distanced, safe environment and each create something beautiful.

This time last week was a glorious afternoon with a FABULOUS couple and an amazing team of fellow wedding suppliers. The ceremony was a dream for me - V&P were were up for all the laughs and their guests certainly were too!! Cannot believe it’s been a week already since the lovely Vix and Sam tied the knot. Here’s a little snapshot of their day at the beautiful @thesecretbarnweddings hosted by @petal_and_feast. These guys love a festival and there were little touches throughout including bell tents for guests to stay in and Glastonbury themed table cards. Glasto is a place these two hold firmly in their hearts and this year they had a handfasting with the wonderful @cloud9ceremonies at @glastofest before incorporating a hand tying into the ceremony on their wedding day last week. Oh, and just how stunning are the disco balls hanging from the floral displays in the barn?! A complete stunner of a day and congratulations once again to the fabulous Mr & Mrs Buddery! 🥰🥂💫
