Three things you should know before booking me as your celebrant:

1. I will spend months getting to know you. We will connect over glasses of wine and chitchat about our lives and the things that mean most to us in the world. As I learn your love story and get to know what makes you both tick, I will become your ceremony sidekick but, most importantly, your friend. There will be no strangers or surprises waiting for you at the end of the aisle meaning you can relax into your day and enjoy every moment with the people you love 💫
2. Your wedding will be unapologetically you! You are cementing your love with the people you love and that means you will commit to your future lives together in whatever way you want! If that involves a sing-along or an interpretative dance, I’m in!!
3. I believe that your wedding ceremony should be placed back in its rightful place at the ♥️ of your day. It should be fun, it should be filled to the brim with love and, above all, it should be the absolute party starter to the best day of your life!! 🎉

It’s been a a little while since I’ve posted on the grid and I’ll let you into a little secret 🤫 I’ve kind of enjoyed the time out since the summer season wound down at the end of September…But, as it’s it’s officially time to dust off the socials and reintroduce myself to the gram!

Over the course of this week I’ll be sharing more insights into my celebrant world and a little from outside of it too..

So, let’s start with a little bit about me….

💫 I trained as a celebrant back in 2019 and celebrated my 5th anniversary in this fabulous job this year 🎉
💫 I LOVE having a crack with my couples and creating ceremonies that are super funny as well as heartfelt ♥️
💫 I LOVE a pair of dungarees and will often sport a jumpsuit for a ceremony
💫 I have a little Jack Russell called Pip who is my true spirit animal. Dogs at weddings are an absolute 👌 from me…
💫 I have treaded the boards in musicals and pantomimes for the last 15 years 🎭 so I absolutely know how to bring all the energy (and projection) to a ceremony. No chance those at the back won’t hear me! 💁🏼‍♀️
💫 I also work in fundraising for as my 9-5. It is the most beautiful place nestled in the South Downs and is now a wedding venue for a limited number of weddings a year!

Matt and Jules ♥️

Yesterday I had the best time with these two and their friends and family as we celebrated their love story.

These two were set up by mutual friends back in 2021. As they met during the tail end of the Covid lockdown their first few date had to happen outdoors and the enjoyed a picnic on the Heath. They hit it off straight away and then quickly fell in love whilst traversing all of their local trails and woodlands together 🌳 💕

With their joint love of the outdoors it was only right their sunset ceremony took place outdoors in the stunning walled garden at Charleston which was basked in the last of the golden light of evening 😍. Here we told their story that included a first date tandem bicycle, a 100 mile hike, a monumental BBQ fail and their beautiful little boy. Matt and Jules also included 2 lovely readings, a hand tying and a ring exchange resulting in a ceremony that was the perfect balance between fun filled frivolity and deeply meaningful moments.

Also - can we just take a sec to appreciate that dress?!?! 🪩

I had the best time working with a fab team of suppliers on the day:

2 weeks ago today, on the stunning island of Sardinia, this celebrant got ENGAGED 💍 😍

After nearly 10 years together, we now have a proposal story of our own ♥️

Having been a celebrant for 5 years, I’ve worked with some incredible couples, venues and suppliers and it feels surreal but amazing to now be thinking about planning our own wedding!! 🥂 💒

There’s one absolute definite though, there’s no better ceremony then a celebrant ceremony and I am SUPER excited that we’ll be able to share the celebrant way with all our friends and family 🎉

Today marks a year since Beth and Dan’s wedding at Whitecliffs Saltdean. This one was a lot of fun for me as these two are friends of mine. It was such a blast being able to share their story in a style true to them which was full of bants. But, there was lots of love thrown into the ceremony too including a beautiful hand tying with a cord Beth made herself ♥️

And who could forget this absolute banger of a sign that greeted guests on their arrival ….

Happy anniversary Beth and Dan! 💜💜

I can’t believe it has already been 3 weeks since Holly and James’ wedding day. It was my first wedding of the 2024 summer season and what a treat it was! These two were after a laid back, fun but heartfelt ceremony and this is exactly what was delivered by sharing their story which was followed with a reading, ‘A wedding Prayer’ by Ben Okri, delivered beautifully by Holly’s mum. Holly and James also decided to include a sing along which celebrated their friends and family. Can you guess the song chosen? Yep, it was ‘You’ve got a Friend in Me’ by Randy Newman and these guys absolutely smashed it! 🎵

Sneak peak 👀

I have spent this evening basking in golden sunshine at in Firle, East Sussex for the rehearsal of Emma and Rohan’s ceremony ahead of their big day tomorrow.

The ceremony is taking place in the ultra beautiful walled garden which, at this time of year, is simply bursting with colour. This is going to be one stunning spot for a wedding 💜

Despite not being present himself tomorrow, a certain feline will be making a solid appearance throughout the day. A fur baby known for his attitude and his fur balls, Eddy is one charismatic cat. I’ve had the pleasure of meeting Eddy via video call myself and, it’s fair to say, he was less than impressed by me. Swipe right to witness his disdain for yourself… ➡️

I don’t think there can be anything more comforting on your wedding day then feeling as though you are stood before your loved ones for your ceremony with a celebrant who is one of your tribe and who understands you as well as your guests.

One of the benefits of having me as a celebrant is that we have the beauty of time. Time to get to know each other and figure out exactly what you want your ceremony to be so that I can craft it into something oh so very you 💜

This means that you can start your wedding day safe in the knowledge that your ceremony sidekick has your back 🙌 You will know exactly what to expect from your ceremony without the uncertainty of a stranger marrying you so you can throw yourselves wholeheartedly into being in the moment together with your loved ones 😍

So if you want a celebrant who, in the words of Harry & Roo, is friendly, approachable and can offer you the ceremony you always wanted - why not slide into my DMs and say 👋

Last week I found myself at the beautiful in Hellingly, East Sussex, for a wedding and was absolutely blown away with this stunning sunset over the grounds, ready and waiting for that perfect snap of the newlyweds 📷 - how gorgeous is this?! 😍

If you’re after a barn venue with a little extra for your wedding, I can recommend taking a look around here - there are even emus and alpacas on site to add to the mix - what’s not to love?? 🦙

You might be thinking that, as your celebrant, my only job is to lovingly craft a super fun, party-starter ceremony that will get your guests pumped for the after-party and deliver it with high energy vibes.

BUT, in addition to the above I also offer so much more as your ceremony sidekick. I’ve got your back when it comes to planning all aspects of your wedding in the run up to your big day and then, on the day itself, I’m on hand early to make sure that Uncle Steve knows where he’s sitting, that your best person knows where the rings are, that your mums have an ample supply of tissues and that the bestie you’ve entrusted to press play on your entrance music hasn’t raided the free bar too early.

This pic of me and Rob shows one of the most fabulous parts of a ceremony - when I get to hang with the bride or groom and help settle any pre-ceremony jitters as they wait for their partner to walk down the aisle. The excitement is truly palpable but I adore those moments of quiet chat and a good ol’ giggle whilst we wait for the ceremony to kick off.

It the BEST feeling EVER when couple’s, like Alex and Ellen, shoot me an email or leave me a review telling me that their loved ones were blown away by their celebrant led ceremony 💜
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Although Hitched have us celebrant folk as a top wedding trend for 2024, celebrant ceremonies are still a super new experience for many guests at the weddings I officiate. So, it’s an utter delight to hear that they have been won over by both the bants and the heartfelt moments woven into my couple’s ceremonies and converted to tying the knot celebrant style!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And with totally bespoke scripts written for each of my couple’s, you can be 💯 sure that you’ll not be finding any run of the mill, snooze-inducing ceremonies here!

Trying to decide whether a Celebrant is worth it?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Well…
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
✔️ Do you want the same ceremony as all of your friends which is predictable and frankly a little dull..
✔️ Do you want to just get the ceremony over with and focus on the ‘party’?
✔️ Do you want to meet the person conducting the ceremony on the day of your wedding?
✔️ Do you want to be restricted on what you can include?
✔️ Do you want something serious and formal?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If it’s a big fat tick against any of the above then maybe a registrar is for you….
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But, if you’re after something a little different then a celebrant ceremony with me can offer you:
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🌟 A ceremony that is bespoke to you and unlike any wedding your friends will have attended
🌟 A party starter of a ceremony that will be so much fun your guests will have forgotten about the after party 🎉
🌟 Months of preparation for the big day which means we’ll know each other so well that you’ll be married by a friend not a stranger
🌟 Choices which means you can have the wedding of your dreams with no restrictions
🌟 A ceremony that is less formal, lots of fun and still packed with all the feels!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And, hopefully, with all the above in place, you’ll be smiling and laughing as hard as Jessica and Mark were when they tied the knot with me back in the summer of 22. It was a banter fest of a ceremony that even resulted in me calling out guests in one of the most incredibly funny and fun filled weddings I’ve had the pleasure to be a part of 💕

Drama Queen 👑

It’s been a big weekend with International Women’s Day and, of course, Mother’s Day yesterday and I was blessed to spend the weekend with some fabulous, strong and frankly inspirational females as we took to the stage to perform an adult version of the pantomime The Sleeping Beauty with LADS at to raise funds for local charities.

Performing on stage whether in pantomimes, concerts or musicals has been something I have loved to do since I was a kid and has definitely been one of the reasons I have become a Celebrant in adult life!

This year we treaded the boards in support of and the Sasha Robert’s Scholarship Fund whilst entertaining the Lewes masses with a complete s**t fest of a show 💁🏼‍♀️

Is there a better way to spend a weekend before wedding season kicks off?!

What does this gal get up to when she’s not creating highly personal, super fun wedding ceremonies for fabulous humans?

Well, one of my favourite things is getting out into the landscape with my family, friends and the furry one. We are so so lucky here on the coast of East Sussex to be blessed with some simply stunning places to spend some time.

This particular spot offers the most spectacular views across the Seven Sisters and on a sunny day like today I revel in feeling so small against the vastness of nature. There’s something so grounding about that fact!

Swipe to the last pic to see the realities of trying to take a nice family selfie with 2 small people and animals 😂

If you guys have any favourite spots I should check out let me know in the comments 👇🙏

Last weekend I trotted up to London for a fabulous day out with some friends to see my first West End show in over a year and boy was it a good’un!! In fact, I would go as far as to say it may actually be one of the best shows I have EVER seen. It was SENSATIONAL. Filled to the brim with extraordinary talent, wit, brilliant songs and punchy, emotive messaging - it was 90 minutes of pure joy 🤩

What made the show even better is the fact that the set (a pub) is fixed for the duration and opens as a bar pre-performance so you can head onto the stage and grab a pint. If this wasn’t enough, if you were seated in the stalls, there were packets of crisps being flung into the audience and more pints thrust upon you by members of the cast 🍻

After the show we filed out through a different doorway we hadn’t previously noticed and found ourselves in the who make delicious cocktails .. and it was happy hour… need I say more?! 🍹 💁🏼‍♀️

I’m always looking for good recommendations so let me know if there are other shows that you think are an absolute must see??

This pic popped up on my Facebook memories out of nowhere and casually let me know that this week marks 5 years since I completed my celebrant training with 🤯

Becoming a celebrant remains one of the best things I have ever chosen to do for myself and is something that continues to bring me so. much. joy ✨
