Just going through the video's on my Soul Damn Funky YouTube channel and I came across this old gem.

This music / video project by: Angus Campbell & Donna Hidalgo and Euan Mitchell. They wanted to include pictures of DJ's and vocalists from their childhood.

It includes some legends including : Neil Pierce, Sean McCabe, Martin Ikin and Me! and I'm in good company right next to Grant Nelson.

Here's a little video clip from a radio station I worked on in 1995 called Dfm. Based in Brighton right on the seafront. It was July 1995. Now that was a good time to be alive.

I went record shopping in Brighton yesterday. I picked up a couple of old disco records that I've been after for a while.

I also replaced three albums that I lost some years ago. They were both the Joan Amatrading albums and the Steely Dan. It was five for a tenner so I also got Deee Lite as I'm a massive fan and Patti La Belle because she's massive diva!

And the last record was right at the front of the breakbeat hardcore section. I jumped straight on it because its by an old school friend.

Me and Daniel were both music mad and it's all we spoke about, we were always exchanging tapes etc. What I remember the most was when I had hooked up my Walkman to a car amplifier which I powered from a 12 volt gelly battery and that went to a thumping speaker.

This little setup is what we called the hardcore bag, because I had industrial strength hardcore banging out of my bag. We'd listen to Carl Cox's radio show from Festival Radio from the night before and we'd get so excited by how hard and mind-blowing the music was, I actually have the same tape still in my collection to this day.

Ahh, I'll never forget my auntie bought me this album for my 10th birthday, on vinyl tho. Not many folk had CD players back then.
