Introducing the Stockholm Syndrome, our top selling meatball.

Stockholm is the quintessential meatball and the result of months of researching classic Swedish cookbooks then testing, trying again and again until we and our lovely (but critical!) 👩‍🔬 product testers were happy that we had an authentic classic meatball. Working with to get the right grade of their pasture fed beef was key to taste and texture. 🐄 For many weeks, this is all we concentrated on, we knew we had to get this right before we could start to develop the rest of the menu.

In Stockholm, Sweden we got to experience such amazing meatballs where they also had exciting variations using Elk, Wild Boar, Brown Bear. One restaurant was so good that when they asked us what we wanted for dessert, we asked for more meatballs! We want to share this passion with you and that is why it was critical for us to get Stockholm Syndrome just right.

Of course, the next thing we had to research, practice and test was the classic gravy, the cranberry jam and the pickles. All of these are made from scratch in the SMAK kitchen, based on elements of classic recipes.

Introducing the Truffled Comfortball which is our top seller in our vegetarian range.

We developed these due to our 😍 of porcini mushrooms and our insatiable desire for truffle. This week we also launched the single Truffle Comfortball on Deliveroo. So you can try one to go with your Genie II, Jean Genie or classic Comfortballs.

Truffled Comfortballs are a true labour of love. Porcini mushrooms are the key to a very very slow cooked risotto. There are no short cuts, this is treating the best ingredients with love and care for the ultimate eating experience. Next, these are hand rolled and coated with breadcrumbs. The result is a luxurious and decadent comfortball with a gooey centre and crisp outer coating. Each delicious serving contains three Truffled Comfortballs, sprinkled with a vegetarian hard cheese.

Next you can choose how the story ends as we have options to add a light and fresh tarragon dipping sauce; or a fresh and vibrant pesto sauce; or maybe you'll choose the slow cooked, deep, rich marinara sauce.

Introducing El Diablo (our second most popular dish!).

El D is 🔥 🔥 with fiery chorizo and specially selected herbs and spices to make the secret 🤫 SMAK formula. The perfect option when you want a little more spice in your life. El D has been on our menu from the beginning but took several trials to get those heat tests perfect to provide the perfect size and make a soft, juicy meatball.

The beef in our meatballs is from which is locally sourced and 100% organic, pasture fed beef.
To provide the perfect balance, we serve it with our signature buttery mash potato, a sprinkling of parsley and a generous blob of our SMAK cranberry jam and, not forgetting our signature pickles.

served with the spectacular, SMAK marinara sauce made from beautiful plump vine tomatoes with herbs from and slow cooked for 2-3 hours to make a deep, rich sauce.
