Join The Ciderologist, Gabe Cook, for an update on the global state of cider.

What's hot in Latvia? Who are the movers and shakers in the USA? How many different ways can pork be served at a single sitting to be washed down with apfelwein in Germany (answer: five)?

Gabe will also dig into the vaults to select a number of bottles of rare and unique ciders to taste from nations such as the USA, Germany, Czech Republic, Croatia and Spain.

To top things off on this global jaunt, Gabe will be showcasing the art and skill of how (or how not) to undertake escansiar - the long pour.
Fancy having a go? If you so, you will automatically be entered in the Long Pour World Championships where you can represent your nation, county or village!

The Bristol Cider Salon is going to be a lot of fun!

Introducing Oliver's Cider & Perry from Herefordshire.

Oliver's make a selection of fine Herefordshire ciders and perries with an emphasis on balance and character coupled with drinkability.

Based around the spontaneous ferment of selected varieties of cider apple and perry pear from fruit grown in Herefordshire and the surrounding 3 Counties orchards.

Nominally referred to as minimal intervention, we strive to take what the fruit gives, respecting the great heritage and traditions of the past but with an eye to innovating for the future. What that really means is we mill and press great fruit, expose the juice to marauding and hungry wild yeasts and then for our part blend and bottle the resulting ferments.

Introducing Ripe Cider from Cornwall.

Ripe are Georgie and Cameron and they make full juice, wild fermented cider in Cornwall following the same principles as natural wine. It's just apples and naturally occurring yeast, hand-picked, hand washed and fermented in ex wine barrels.

Their method of production involves minimum intervention requiring no chemical additions and minimal energy inputs. It means working with the seasons and their natural temperature fluctuations, having a long slow fermentation to create complex flavours and aromas.

Introducing Ross on Wye Cider & Perry from Herefordshire.

The Johnson family have been pressing apples and pears at Broome Farm since the 1930s. Today our natural cider and perry is produced in the same traditional way in the unique soil and climate of Herefordshire. The cidermaking is pure and simple, using only whole juice, and allowing natural fermentation.

Introducing Gould Cider from Cornwall

They make fine ciders, perries, ice ciders, brandies, fruit juices and vinegars in small batches from West Country Heritage fruit grown in Grampound.

The orchard sits in the Fal Valley on a South West facing slope. It is managed traditionally with no spraying, no fertiliser and no glyphosate. The orchard is rich in biodiversity, and the inhabitants of some 40 or 50 bird nest boxes provide pest control! The orchard is currently undergoing the rigorous process of Organic Certification.

There are about 1200 apple trees of some 80 varieties, half of which are choice Breton strains. Brittany apples have exceptional flavours and thrive in our cool moist Cornish winters. The perry pear orchard (possibly the only one in Cornwall) has rare and endangered British varieties including Coppy, Yellow Huffcap and Stinking Bishop.
