The amazing Alice .and.wasted has taken our kitchen food waste, processed it and turned it into these incredible platters for our canapés. And here they are on their first outing with cucumber cups, baba g and pomegranate and corn fritters, coconut crème fraiche, avocado and pickled pink onion.

Utterly unique and totally wonderful. Such a cool way to use up our waste product and create something so lovely. I just need to stop stroking them long enough to put canapés on them.

Absolute pleasure to be back for another year cooking for for the prize awards ceremony. The amazing finalists and their 250 guests enjoyed champagne and sparkling wine with canapés of:

Tuna tartar, ginger and soy, sriracha aioli, tempura nori crackers, katsubushi flakes (my new favourite)

Sweetcorn and pea fritters, jalapeño gel, avocados and pickled pink onion

Lovage and Gruyère fritters, wild garlic pesto

Filo cups, baba g and Greek salad

Fried chicken, confit garlic aioli

Followed by bowls of :

Spinach and ricotta Malfatti, tomato sauce, Bufalo mozzarella, pine nuts.

Wild rice salad, sticky aubergine, glazed puffed tofu, Korean sauce, spring onions & sesame

Charred brassicas, spiced chickpea, smoked paprika crispy cavolo nero.

Thanks to my amazing team on the floor and super star chefs in the kitchen. And wonderful floor and bar staff from . You guys smashed it!

It’s all about pudding! Introducing some of our lovely desert platters…. Our family style banquet menu allows you to select from a number of seasonal mini puds to create your dream dessert platter. Shot glasses with gooseberry fool, classic lemon posset or classy pana cotta. Indulgent salted caramel brownies, orange blossom Madeline’s, mini pavlovas, pistacchio frangipane, lemon tarts and cheese cakes are just some of the options on the list. Plus we will add new items to the menu if there was a favorite pudding you you like served.. Always decorated with fresh fruits and flower petals, sugared almonds or meringue shards. Tis the season for wedding tastings!

Your wedding should reflect your unique taste and style which is why we invite our couples to join us for a bespoke tasting. Crafting the perfect menu for your special day is a journey we take together and our tastings help you to savour, refine and personalise every dish to ensure it’s nothing short of exceptional.

All the best weddings start with a canapé or two (if I was to get married again I think it might be all canapés!) Here are some of my favourite canapés on this year.

Back by popular demand with a new dusting of poppy seeds - Parmesan Sable, goats cheese, pickled beet hearts.

Sweetcorn fritter, avocado, pink onion (vegan)

Filet of beef tartar, black rice cracker, confit egg yolk

Quail egg, black sushi

Tempura oyster mushroom, porcini aioli, pickled shimeji (vegan)

Goats cheese, charred onion crostini

Confit potato cake, ox cheek, house pickles

Bocconcini, yellow nectarine, rosemary

Korean fried cauliflower (also in chicken format!)

Lovage arancini, confit garlic aioli, pea shoots

How will you be setting your wedding? Create the perfect tablescape that is unique to you. Be it classic, elegant, flamboyant or elaborate we can help you design the perfect setting for your wedding banquet.

We work with a number of different suppliers so you can upgrade and embellish your table as you wish, with bespoke crockery, coloured glassware, and linens.

We also work with some incredible florists (an essential part to any tablescape), who can lift your setting to the next level with beautiful blooms and rich foliage.

So looking forward to seeing what scapes we create in 2025.

My favorite winter starter. Beautiful burratina, roasted, pickled and marinated heritage beets. Fig leaf oil (made late summer from our own fig tree), puffed Parmesan crisp, dehydrated red beetroot powder, toasted pine nuts.

Italian style Canapés to follow the brief “themes of ecology & the human relationship with flora and fauna”

Tempura oyster mushroom, wild mushroom aioli, pickled shimeji mushroom (now a new favorite of mine!)

Vegan Miso Kabocha squash, Pickled walnut, cavolo Nero crisp

Black rice sushi, siracha aioli, soy marinated quails’ egg

Vegan Sweetcorn fritter, guacamole & jalapeño aioli, sour cream & pickled pink onion.

Espresso mousse cake, Morello cherry jelly, honey Combe, flowers.

For drinks we served natural orange wines and for those on dry January some delicious and grown up mocktails:

Winter berry Spritz
Bitter Martini Aperitivo, Cranberry syrup, ginger soda, lime, Blackberries, flowers.

Virgin Paloma:
Seedlip garden 108, Fresh pink grapefruit juice, club soda, lime, agave syrup,
sea salt, grapefruit slice

It’s exactly 3 weeks until the big day and definitely a good time to start talking CANAPES!!

I absolutely love a canapé reception. What is more of a treat than a selection of mini morsels with a cold glass of fizz. I definitely like to serve a few canapés on the big day - still trying to decide what though. Beef carpaccio with Parmesan cream and truffle oil is a firm favourite and decadently befitting of such a day!

But perhaps pic number 1 - a new addition the the menu - rosemary confit potato cake, slow cooked shredded ox cheek, sriracha aioli and house pickles.
#2 Korean fried cauliflower
#3 classic smoked salmon blini (always a crowd pleaser)
#4 vegan and gluten free sweetcorn fritter, avocado and jalapeño salsa (maybe one for that veganuary party!)
#5 sea bass ceviche in black rice cracker
#6 Parmesan shorts, goats cheese and pepper purer
#7 blini (again!)
#8 that beef carpaccio I mentioned…
#9 lemon curd tartlets
#10 black rice sushi, soy marinated quail egg
#11 brulee meringue tart
#12 little crispy duck pancakes

Wedding tasting!! All our couples get to enjoy their wedding menu cooked for them by a private chef at home. This is my favourite bit of all the planning…. treating our lovely couples to a private banquet with canapés just for them! It also gives us the chance to chat through plans for the big day as well as refining our menus to suit particular desires and preferences creating perfectly bespoke dishes to suit individual styles and budgets. Yum yum yum.

Realise the Rose Kentish Kitchen instagram account hadn't been linked to the page?! This has now been sorted going forwards and I should be able to keep our followers up to date on what the kitchen has been up to (we have obviously done more events than the last post in jan 2022?!)....

Like this beautiful wedding cake we produced Arnos Vale Cemetery two weekends ago - a very generous commission by a friend of the happy couple.
