I want as many people as possible to know about this...

I cannot believe what I've just read. One of my couples has sent us emails that have just blown the lid off of what the registration service is trying to do

They should be ashamed of themselves.

My couples are being harassed, sent confusing information, being misled and misguided by lies, and to be quite frank, I've had enough of it.

I'm calling bu****it. It has to stop. Several of my couples have been to sign their paperwork and been grilled to the point of them leaving upset, in tears and with bad memories of this milestone event. This is happening across many counties too.

A registrar is a registrar. They complete the two legal aspects of a marriage. They are NOT independent celebrants. They are not celebrants full stop!

I'm whistle-blowing because somebody has to.

Yes, they are, and here's why. . .

1) When couples book us they pay a hire fee which secures their date, covers the writing of the draft ceremony, a venue visit plus all meetings and communications.

2) The second payment covers additional writing and script updates (it evolves across many versions as we create it together with you).

3) The third and final payment covers all ceremony prep, final updates, sign-off, certificate and presentation folder preparation and printing, use of our equipment (PA system etc if required), attendance on the day (three hours+), and your very own wedding day blog with our behind the scenes pics and an account of your day.

We are very transparent about our fees, and what is included. So, as you can see, it isn't one fee for us to just turn up with a template script. it's a comprehensive, reassuring, and well-reputed service that we provide, and we only do one wedding a day (so we are all yours, without any rushing).

For comparison:

A registrar charges £700+ for 20 mins. That's £2100 per hour.

We spend 30 hours plus on our couples which equates to roughly £28 per hour.

We work with couples that are looking for a bespoke and personal ceremony experience! Let's enjoy creating something very special together!

I work with all couples, and the dynamics of my couples vary greatly. Some have mixed faith, some are multi-cultural.

This couple are a British Groom and a Danish Bride. He roots are from Africa, and they fused together some symbolic rituals, and lots of fun Danish wedding day elements. It was amazing!
