The Blackburn Empire, formerly the Thwaites Empire Theatre, is a small community based theatre in Blackburn, Lancashire. Bringing you the best in music, comedy, dance, drama and variety. A charity and volunteers led, we also are the home for local drama and dance groups.

Last night saw St. John’s College lit in blue and yellow. Tonight Kings College Chapel. It is an honour to be involved in this project showing support for the nation and raising money to support a worthy charity in their time of need.

King's College Chapel was illuminated tonight in the national colours to show support for the nation following the Russian invasion. The production crew are donating their fee to the Ukrainian charity The Voices of Children: https://voices.org.ua/en/. Newmarket’s Christmas Light Switch On at the clock tower starts from 5pm and is hosted by multi-award-winning magician and a member of the prestigious Magic Circle Jez Bond.

You may remember Jez for his amazing performance on Britain’s got talent last year. In addition to Jez there’s going to be live music, Christmas carols and a fairground right along the High Street.

Not to mention our own Newmarket businesses – some of whom will be open serving food and drinks and keeping you warm on the night.

We can not wait to join you all once again.

ALL SYSTEMS GO! Christmas in Cambourne begins this Saturday.

We're taking all the necessary precautions to keep everyone as safe as possible but as there will inevitably be crowds we advise you:

Wear a face covering in crowded spaces
Use hand sanitiser available on site
DO NOT attend if you have symptoms

Santa's grotto will open at 5pm, live music will begin at 5:15pm, the lights switch on will be approximately 6:30pm but we advise you arrive in good time to ensure you don't miss it.

CAMBOURNE'S SWITCH ON IS BACK!
SATURDAY 20TH NOVEMBER
5-7:30PM
CAMBOURNE MARKET SQUARE.

Join us for an evening of festive fun as we prepare to switch on Cambourne's Christmas lights for 2021.

With live stage entertainment from JezO alongside live music from Shambertans and Fred's House in the build up to the big switch on.

Santa will be meeting children in his grotto, we'll be offering mince pies and mulled wine alongside a great selection of food and drink offerings from 400 Degrees Pizza, Kerief Catering, a BBQ serving burgers and hot dogs AND a hot chocolate stand. We'll also be running a raffle with loads of fantastic prizes.

The Christmas lights switch on is organised by voluntary committee Light Up Cambourne in partnership with Cambourne Town Council.

Wrap up warm and bring in the festive season on Saturday 20th November from 5pm.
