An Update from ‘Knowler Farm’
Spring/Summer Newsletter

With spring in the air and summer looking not so far off, we thought this would be a good opportunity to thank all our lovely locals for all the support during the winter, and update everyone on what's coming up over the summer months at Knowler Farm. Wellies and raincoats have been a familiar scene at Knowler Farm, but with the addition of the log burner in ‘The Haff Shed’ this autumn, we have still managed to welcome lots of hard core country dog walkers, book groups and coffee catch-ups while also hosting an array of children's workshops, bush craft, fundraisers and family fun days at the Farm. Our Children in Need coffee morning although very wet, raised a whopping £517.00 Thank you to everyone that turned out and donated so generously!

So what's been going on here over the winter? Well.. We are super excited to announce that Knowler Farm is now officially a CIC! So what is a CIC? It stands for ‘Community Interest Company’ A CIC exists to benefit the community in whatever area is needed.
We will soon be introducing a few small little animals to the site that can be used for educational purposes and accessed by those using the Farm. Young people accessing ‘Bee Free on The Farm’ our latest addition- an alternative school provision, that kicked off at Easter and we have been welcoming Students from a few local schools that are supporting young people with additional needs.
We have recently partnered up with ‘The Pig’ in Bridge, who are offering their expertise in food produce and are kindly supporting us with setting up our very own community access veggie patch, complete with safe composting and a focus on as little food waste as possible.
But this is the start- A CIC is for everyone and is constantly adapting and changing to facilitate the needs of people within the community, so if there is something that you would like to see up at the Farm, whether it be a new group or workshop, we would love to hear from you!

Knowler Fitness- We are over the moon with the support shown by our eager locals for the gym since Islas relaunch of ‘Knowler Fitness’ in January. The opening night a massive 81 locals signed up to a gym membership and have been attending classes and accessing the gym since, more than we could have hoped for but yet again, the support from Stelling Minnis and surrounding villagers was fantastic. Isla has welcomed some very familiar faces, and met some new lovely people travelling from further afield to access classes such as the ‘mum and baby class’ which given that little Oliver was welcomed into the Gifford family 7 months ago was definitely going to be an addition to the class schedule!
With the new 6:00-20:00 opening hours we have seen so many different groups of families and friends that have been scheduling workouts together, all age groups, all abilities, all coming together to work out, chat and enjoy their fitness, with a well deserved coffee at the trailer afterwards! The Gym has already provided several jobs and training opportunities for a couple of our lovely village folk and we hope that it will continue to do so.

Camping and Coffee- With Camping season fast approaching Wayne has been busy updating the campsite eco facilities and preparing to welcome our campers again, and hopefully some good weather!
The Coffee shop is keeping us all very busy, with the addition of our gorgeous Gabby to the team this year too! We are super excited to announce that Knowler Farm Coffee shop will be providing some hot food options in the near future, The super talented Emma Warden is back in town and will be cooking up some hot grub from the coffee shop so pop along for a jacket potato, soup or hot sausage or bacon roll this summer!

What's Coming Up?- Bee is also busy preparing to host a selection of events throughout the summer, including family fun days, well-being retreats, family workshops and more..
We are super excited to be hosting ‘SpoonTown’ again this year- a wood carving festival, boasting tutors from all around Europe getting together to carve wood, and teaching traditional methods and skills.
After fantastic feedback last year ‘Wild Child’ is back this August offering an accessible family fun filled day, based around nature, preservation and wildlife.
With the addition of Bushcraft and Forest School workshops offered throughout the Summer holidays, we hope there is something for everyone! If you would like to host a fundraiser or local event, pop in and have a chat with Bee!
Plus.. pizzas will be back every Friday evening throughout summer starting from the 14th June!

We again want to Thank everyone for the support we have received since starting up our little family venture, we wouldn't be able to do this without the continual support from our family, friends and locals. If you haven't already please pop down to the Farm, there's always somebody here to help or to answer any questions, we love hearing your ideas and feedback and look forward to welcoming you all back this Summer! ☕️ Last week was Mental Health Awareness Week and this month is dedicated to it too! 🌟 At Bee Free on the Farm and every day is a mental health day. We start with a wellbeing check-in, recharge at lunchtime, and reflect at day’s end. 🎯 🎣

✨This year, we’re going further by supporting as our Charity of the Year! We will be hosting free events in collaboration with mind to raise awareness and promote outdoor access and well-being. Stay tuned for more info! 💚 ✨
