On Wednesday we held our 2024 AGM. A great turnout of committee members were there to hear reports from last years successful show and vote in our new officeholders for the forthcoming year. Good luck to the following team:

Our local donation this year has gone to Calder School Agriculture department to help replace their storm damaged polytunnel.

Thank you to retiring officers of Nick Utting (President), Andrew Simms (Treasurer) and Graham Holliday (Chair) for their efforts over many years.

Show field lies between Hesket Newmarket and Newlands Mill - signposted in the village,

A traditional agricultural show event held every year on the first Saturday after the August Bank Holiday celebrating the finest of agricultural tradition. The Show attracts top class livestock, vintage vehicles, industrial, handicraft & horticultural exhibits. With Cumberland wrestling plus children's fancy dress, pets and Hesket Newmarket's famous and not to be missed 'Terrier Racing'!

Trade stands, licensed bar, catering, ice-cream, children's stalls, roundabout and bouncy castle

Entry - Adults £8 - Children (11-16yrs) £5 - Under 11’s Free

Quick thank you to everyone that brought a trade stand, showed their livestock & horses, sponsored, exhibited their Industrial item, judged, stewarded and helped in any other way.

Of course we can’t forget everyone that visited us yesterday. We hoped you enjoyed it as much as we did and hope to see you again on 10th August 2024.

Its that time of year again, our wonderful local show in Dalston!

As always we are providing main ring entertainment and a bit of friendly competition.

We have a busy weekend coming up as we are attending both Dalston Show and Defender Jam at Drumlanrig Castle

David is attending Dalston Show with a Grenadier Fieldmaster. Dalston Show has entertainment to suit the whole family, including gun dog demonstration, falconry display, ferret racing and the ever-popular Cumberland and Westmorland Wrestling. There will be other entertainers on the day, including Magical Music Bike, Stu-di-doo, Jesters Circus and music by the Border Concert Band!

Tim will be at Defender Jam at Drumlanrig Castle with a Grenadier Commercial and the new Quartermaster. This is a 2 day event with good music, food and drink, and has been running since 2017. It has lots to keep the family enetertained, with green-laning track, show cars, market stalls, art, DJs, live music, clothing, street food, face painting and more!

We look forward to welcoming you to our stands over the weekend.
