So for those wondering what sensory play actually is….
Sensory play is any activity that stimulates our senses – touch, sight, hearing, smell and taste. It helps children interact with the world that surrounds them and plays an important role in a child’s development.
There are many benefits to sensory play, encouraging creativity and independent thinking and it is great for emotional regulation by providing a calming effect on children’s anxious feelings.
Sensory play is also a lot of fun and can come in many forms from water or sand play to even blowing bubbles but at Olibobs we are focusing on sensory trays. Sensory trays have various objects with a variety of textures for a hands-on experience for children. This could be beads, paper, kinetic sand, leaves, rocks, sand and dried food products.
Here at Olibobs we want to provide that added extra party entertainment with a difference, that will engage children no matter what personality trait they have. Sensory play really is, for all.
