You may spot a familiar face in the Clyde Coast and Garnock Valley Crematorium photos! Me! I am proud to have joined the team working there on a part time basis. I love supporting the team and families, I provide celebrant services for our smaller ceremonies and care for the families, officiants and funeral directors when they visit us.

Clyde Coast & Garnock Valley Crematorium has been recognised as being one “of the most highly regarded crematoria in Scotland” in their most recent Inspection from the Senior Inspector of Crematoria.
Formal Inspections of crematoria in Scotland were introduced by the Scottish Government in 2016 as part of the Burial and Cremation (Scotland) Act - which provides a modern and comprehensive legal framework, designed to ensure the highest of standards in burial and cremation practices in Scotland.
In his concluding remarks following his Inspection of Clyde Coast & Garnock Valley Crematorium, Bert Swanson QPM, Senior Inspector of Crematoria said:

“The inspection found Clyde Coast & Garnock Valley Crematorium to continue to perform to the highest of standards with no shortcomings noted in any aspect of the cremation process.

Good practice was noted throughout the different stages.

The small team led by an experienced and very competent manager collectively provide a first-class service to the local community and beyond.

The continuing increase in the number of cremations carried out since its opening in 2018 reflects the satisfaction and admiration of those who attend the crematorium in whatever capacity.”

In closing, Bert Swanson added that; “The Cremation Authority can be justly proud of what they have achieved in operating two of the most highly regarded crematoria in Scotland.”

Commenting on the Inspection Report, Jennifer Hamilton, Manager of Clyde Coast & Garnock Valley Crematorium said:

“We are absolutely delighted with our inspection feedback, and we thank Bert Swanson, the Senior Inspector of Crematoria once again for his detailed review on all aspects of the cremation services that we are so proud to provide here at Clyde Coast & Garnock Valley Crematorium for our local families and communities.

“We strive to go the extra mile for every family that we care for and support, and to receive this recognition from the Senior Inspector means the world to us.”

It’s been a busy few weeks for me helping many families to say farewell to their loved ones. Each goodbye is unique. I am always grateful for the many thank yous and kind comments I receive.
I always hope that I can put across the essence and love of each sorely missed Mum, Dad,Son or Daughter, Grandparent and friend. The comments I receive reassures me, and makes me thankful for the privilege of the work I do.

I am also grateful to work alongside so many professionals who trust me and recommend me.
