I will be announcing my plans for this year’s UKHKA Yarnstravaganza over the next couple of days!

It’s so useful to see yarn worked up before you decide what to go for and this is a perfect example of Marble in MC27 🧶

Knitter? Want to spend more time at The Yarnery?

Now you can!

I’ve been trialing some knitting sessions over the last couple of weeks and they’ve been fantastically well turned out. It’s been really lovely to meet some new faces and see what you’ve all got on your pins!

Because it’s been so much fun I will be adding two clubs to the weekly calendar on a regular basis.

Every Tuesday & Thursday afternoon will be for the knitters. Join me for Afternoon Purlers from 12:30 - 3:30 for delicious coffee, biscuits and peer led fun.

£5.00 per session including a hot drink and biscuits.
No commitment necessary!
We do have limited spaces at the shop so we may have to look at pre booking in future but for now, please join us if you can!

All stocked up on James C. Brett Marble Chunky at The Yarnery just in time for these blustery days!

This is such a versatile yarn. 100% acrylic wrapped in nice loose balls to maintain it’s bounce.

What have you all made with Marble? I’ve crocheted a few blankets, multiple hats and a couple hexis but I’m knitting a cardigan at the moment (wish me luck) and I can’t wait to put it on!

Yesterday Hooking Good hosted a fabulous Mosaic Crochet workshop at The Yarnery with lots of lovely Yarnies. Thanks to all of you that came along and made it such a lovely afternoon.

I didn’t get many pictures so if you’d like to share your makes from the workshop, please do!

It was so nice to see some familiar faces and welcome some brand new hookers to the community.
We host workshops most Saturday afternoons at the shop so if you’d like to book on to some, check out the events section of the page.

This was Lyndsey’s first attempt at mosaic and I think we can all safely say that she smashed it!

Good morning Yarnies!

We’re open today from 10:30 - 5:00 and kicking off this morning with our Saturday crochet class. This afternoon we’ve got a fully booked mosaic workshop but the shop will be open as usual for yarn fans to browse or get whatever they need for current/future wips!

We’ve got some beautiful new alpaca and silk yarns in from Fyberspates, lots of gorgeous patterns for knitters and crocheters and the atmosphere is always friendly.

Landing at The Yarnery TOMORROW! Fyberspates Cumulus. This heavy lace/3 ply weight yarn is a combination of delicate alpaca halo and smooth silk creating the softest knits with a beautiful drape and a delicate haze without being itchy.

We’re cosying up here on St James Street and can’t wait to see all of your cooler season makes!

What’s on my mind, Facebook?

I’ve spent most of this morning deciding which of the new shades of Pip to stock at The Yarnery and so far I haven’t narrowed it down. At all. There are so many to choose from!

Made with 100% British wool, each fleece is carefully graded by hand and comes from sheep that are cared for by British farmers that adhere to strict ethical standards.

100% of wool that baa ram ewe uses comes from non-mulesed sheep.

I think you’re all going to love this range for colourwork, Yarnies.

An INCREDIBLE day today at the UK Hand Knitting trade show. I’ve met so many wonderful creators and suppliers and I’m so looking forward to filling the shop with lots of new and exciting ranges.

The Yarnery is about to get a whole lot woollier!

Look out for news on incoming Fyberspates, baa ram ewe, West Yorkshire Spinners, Lion Brand Yarn and lots MORE!

The festive yarn that I’ve seen today is honestly TDF and you’re not going to want to miss any of it.

It was also really lovely to catch up with all of my existing suppliers and see what they’ve got planned for us all for the autumn and winter. I have so much to share with you all over the next few weeks.

What a week it’s been at The Yarnery and it’s not over yet!

We’ll be here until 5:00 today with DELECTABLE yarns by your favourite people.

This Unicorn Boho Cygnet Yarns came in earlier this week and I don’t think it’ll be here for long so if you love adding to your boho stash as much as we do, it’s here and it’s ready to be taken home.

Tomorrow we’re off to a trade show to find even more gorgeousness to fill our shelves with and, of course, there will be updates 🧶
