The Ho**ers and I have been busy this week raising money for The Countess Charity Duck Race in April!

Collectively we have raised £300 to adopt our duck and I’m so thrilled to be part of it. I picked Ho**er Duck up last night and we have a few weeks to decorate him. Let’s just say, no one ever in the history of all time will have worn as much crochet as our duck will be wearing.

You can come and visit our duck (the amount of typos I’ve had to correct on this post is insane) at The Green Rooms during our opening hours. I will of course keep you all up to date on his antics whilst he gets ready for his big race. I can well imagine he’s going to be quite the little rascal!

INTRODUCING The Beginners Tunisian Crochet Workshop with Hooking Good at The Green Rooms

On April 12th I will be hosting a beginners Tunisian session for up to 10 people from 1:30pm

Tunisian Crochet dates back to the 1850s and during this three hour workshop you will discover it’s origins, how it became popular and how to create your first Tunisian stitches.

This workshop will cover up to seven different Tunisian stitches and styles and you’ll leave being able to start and finish off a Tunisian project of your choice. Hand outs will be provided for reference.

Tunisian hooks and dk yarn will be provided for work on the day and anyone attending the workshop will receive 15% off in stock yarn to take home. Hooks et al will also be available to purchase for those that catch the bug!

Basic crochet knowledge is essential before booking on to this workshop.

Happy Heart Day Ho**ers!

What a perfect way to celebrate the day of hearts with Sirdar’s latest CAL by Sharna Crochet Artist

I’m so excited to be working on week two with my community. Week one was so much fun!

Another lovely day with lovely people!

Thank you so much to all of you that came along to this afternoon’s FULLY BOOKED - Arm Knitting Workshop with Hooking Good at The Green Rooms and made it such so much fun. You all did incredibly!

Not as many pictures as usual I’m afraid, we were chatting and the afternoon went so quickly. Time flies…!

We spent a lovely afternoon arm knitting blankets today at The Green Rooms! Thank you to everyone that came along to the workshop and made it’s such a fun time.

Here’s Carla, who will be joining me on the FULLY BOOKED - Six Week Crochet Course - Thursday Day Sessions - Beginners & Intermediates as well, with her completed throw. Carla’s New Year’s resolution is to try new things. I hope you enjoyed ticking this one off your list!

BRAND NEW WORKSHOP FOR 2025

Join me on March 15th at The Green Rooms to learn Mosaic Crochet Techniques.

During this three hour workshop we will cover how to start, finish and border a mosaic project and explore a variety of different pattern types. We’ll look in to reading the different types of printed patterns and you’ll leave with the knowledge you need to create your own mosaics as well as being able to take away your practice pieces.

*Basic crochet knowledge is needed for this workshop. You will be to be able to confidently hold a hook, feed yarn and make sc and dc stitches.

A fifty percent booking fee of this £36 workshop will be required to secure your space. Numbers are strictly limited to six to ensure that everyone has enough time with me during the session. All yarn will be included and there will be hooks for you to work with on the day if you don’t bring your own.

Getting ready for my Tuesday evening class and modelling a wearable I made for my mum with Cygnet Yarns Ltd Boho in Wicked. There isn’t one of these Boho shades that I don’t LOVE! They are the QUEENS of colour.

I’m currently working on a top in Deep which is a mixture indigo and peacock blue and wild green - I’ll post some pictures when I’ve got more of it to show!

The space you’ve all been waiting for is now available. Very limited, but space none the less! If you’ve been wanting to join us on Thursday evenings I am about to open up four spots starting January 30th.

The sessions are booked in six week blocks and are £60 including hot drinks at each session, talk about The Traitors or the newest best show, the latest best book, LOTS of laughing, quite a few swear words and the best crochet tuition by far.

Disclaimer - The Ho**ers in this group are not vanilla so worth bearing in mind if you’re easily shocked!

📣 INTRODUCING the Thursday Day Time Crochet Sessions!

I have spoken to a few regulars and some prospective Ho**ers over the weekend and decided to go ahead with the Thursday day time classes. Just like the other sessions they will be for beginners and intermediates. Right handed, left handed, women, men et al are welcome. The Green Rooms is an inclusive space for all.

The classes have been the same price for eight years, they’re £60 for six weeks and include all you need to start and a hot drink at each session. Although I know others charge more please don’t assume it’s because you won’t get as much from me. I have been doing this for the longest and I have the largest community of Ho**ers in Cheshire. The reason the price is low is to make it more accessible to more people. I love having you here learning with me and having a nice time.

Come and learn the skill you can’t learn alone with books or online with influencers at Hooking Good Ho**ers! The Thursday sessions will start on February 20th and run for six weeks at a time (all year round) from 10:30 - 12:30.

What a FABULOUS day of hooking I’ve had today.

Kicked off this morning with my fully booked Saturday session and caught up with all of my weekend hookers and spent this afternoon teaching six new hooklets how to start to their crochet journey on the FULLY BOOKED - Complete Beginners Crochet Workshop

I’ve met some lovely people today and seen lots of familiar faces and honestly feel like I’ve shaken off all the January blues that I’ve been carrying around this week.

Here’s a picture of Deb’s recent make! Deb has been coming to my Saturday sessions for a while and has fully embraced everything she’s tackled project wise. I’m super proud of her for making this over the festive break from start to finish on her own. It was hard to get a picture of it in all its glory so I’ll post more with close ups this week!

Unfortunately tomorrow’s Six Week Flexi Crochet Course - SATURDAYS - Beginners & Intermediates will be postponed and start on January 11th. I am so sorry to let people down but im still not well enough to teach. I’ve been struggling over Christmas with Norovirus and a chest infection and just as I started to breath a bit easier the sickness has come back.
It’s just not worth making anyone ill over. Please accept my deepest apologies, there’s nothing I want to do more than get in the shop and teach you all.
