Rudy pleased to be back modelling and I had a lovely day yesterday with Linz and Fi brushing up on my hand tied bridal bouquet skills and how to elevate my wiring skills to create full shower bouquets. The above bouquet needs more work (and is now 1 day old as well as battered by a toddler) but as a first attempt I’m quite pleased with it. Just need things to start blooming in the plot so I can keep practicing

I don’t think I’ve actually ever introduced myself properly on here so what better excuse than as part of run by

I’m already behind so going to combine days 1,2 & 3

I’m Sophie and to be honest I still have a bit of imposter syndrome about actually calling myself a flower farmer. I grow flowers on an allotment plot for honesty box sales and also hoping this year to do a few markets.

A day in my life is a bit hectic at the moment as I also try to hold down an office job and look after my 1 year old son, I do a lot of my seed sowing and potting on during nap times or once he is in bed.

How I got here is a bit of a long story. Back in 2019 I got an allotment to focus my mind and energy after a long struggle with infertility. I had always dabbled in floristry along side office jobs and since moving away from London no longer had the ease of Covent Garden to get flowers so decided to grow my own. In 2021 I completed a career change course with and had our beautiful boy with the help of IVF. 2022 I took a break and just focused on being a mummy but 2023 we are back with a new bigger plot, can’t wait to see what this year holds!

Parrot tulips are spectacular. They don’t even look like tulips and I find the more they open the better they look. Might have added just a few of these to my bulb order but not sure how many will actually make it into the honesty box bouquets as I might end up keeping them all for me! -tulips

Who’s getting excited about our up and coming wreath workshops. Tuesday 6th is sold out but there are still a few spaces on the 9th if there is anyone still wanting to join us. I do love a white wedding.

With the cost of everything going up it’s always great when you can re use wedding flowers in different ways across the day to get the most value for money. These garlands were used to decorate the ceremony space, the wedding breakfast tables and then the bar and buffet tables in the evening.
