My name is Tom Roberts and on Saturday 26th August 2023 I am hosting a charity fundraiser in aid of Nightingale House Hospice (Wrexham) and Sepsis Trust UK.

My back story...., well it is a bit of a long one but the short version is, as teenagers, my brothers and I lost our parents within 5 months of each other. Although our mother had suffered with cancer earlier in life, it was sepsis that took her life quickly and unexpectedly on 27th March 2003. Days before our mother's death, my father received the devastating news that he was terminal and only had weeks to live. Given the crucial stages my brothers and I were at in school, it was my father's choice to protect us from this news and so we were unaware of his diagnosis until 6th August 2003, the day he sadly lost his battle.

As a family, as difficult as it was, we pulled together and managed to support each other and complete our secondary and university educations. Both of my brothers are lawyers and I practice as a veterinary surgeon.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of our parents passing and we hope to commemorate this and celebrate their memory with a charity fundraiser at the family home they were so proud to have built for us as a family.

All profits from the evening will be shared between Nightingale House Hospice and Sepsis Trust UK.

I am respectfully reaching out to local businesses asking for sponsorships or cash donations towards the event. I hope you will be able to support our vision and help us raise as much money for the aforementioned charities.
