A sneak peak at my last wedding of the fresh flower season. It's all about those gorgeous, warm autumnal colours. Think burnt oranges, golden yellows and burgundy...oooo I just love how luxurious these colours are π§‘
The Crysanthemums have just started blooming too, adding their jewel-toned colours and quirky shapes - perfect timing!
Milkchurns! I love them - they're perfect for eye-catching and abundant floral displays, they're multi-purpose and can be moved from church/ceremony to bar or dancefloor (or anywhere else!) throughout the day and add instant impact and a flowery welcome to guests.
I use metal bucket inserts for churns, filled with water and chicken wire supports. Absolutely NO floral foam. I was so pleased to hear the couple decided to pick out and dry some of the flowers from their arrangements, so they have everlasting flowers to remember such a special day π§‘

Bee Friendly Gift Jars π
They're how I started and I still absolutely love creating these whimsical cottage garden displays. Every single one is different, full of vibrant, sweet smelling flowers and foliage, all grown using organic practices on my micro flower farm in Mid Devon. They bring me such joy π©·
Happy Friday, flower friends

It is such a relief to finally be getting plants in the ground on The Patch. It's been a tough winter of non-stop rain, followed by yet more dreary, wet, overcast and cold conditions in the spring! I am British, so I will always complain about the weather....
As a result, we're running behind. Simply, the seedlings needed sun (as did us humans!) and the ground needed to dry up and warm up.
The perennials outside weren't much better too, and have remained small and sulking (I don't blame them)
There's no doubt about it, it's been a stressful time and a few tears have been shed, so desperate trying to spread some joy and supply beautiful British flowers.
But, I guess these things come with working with Nature....she decides...and we just have to sit tight and be patient. Well, the sun has finally shone this week and we've had 20 degrees π€ (still a bit fresh at night, mind you) and AT LAST, everything's growing again and it shouldn't be too much longer...
Thank you so much to my lovely Subscription holders, who have had a delay but have been so incredibly supportive β€οΈ I promise, the flowers are coming π

Happy Earth Day π
From which, all things grow. Us as humans, our food, animals, our livelihoods. Earth is the most important thing.
This is something I'm particularly passionate about on all levels, from nature towildlife, the overall global environment, pollution, water and SOIL. Since starting my cut flower 'journey', I've followed the 'no-dig' method. Not just because of the practicalities, but also because it really does help improve the soil structure, microbiome and to lock carbon into the ground, rather than releasing it into the atmosphere. It might seem small, but I believe I'm doing my little bit to help the Earth and in turn, we get healthy, strong and sustainably grown flowers to share with you all.
As you can see in my slightly shakey video (probably as I was so excited to see the white Mycelium which is an indication of healthy, rich soil) there's so much life under our feet. That Mycelium is a fungus that helps support root growth. Perhaps it's even a form of soil communication. So without using sprays, pesticides and other chemicals, this world under our feet, in the earth, thrives.
So, if we all did our little bit, BIG things happen. Happy Earth day π

Just like mini bouquets....
I love making buttonholes. They're one of my favourite things to do. Dainty little bunches of fresh British flowers, carefully hand tied with natural jute string.
R & J asked for pops of white, pinks and blue for their Summer wedding and really wanted to include Carnations, which had a lovely family connection to a grandparent who used to grow them π©·
I grew them especially for their big day and have now found such a fondness for this traditional flower with its clove-like scent.
π©· THANK YOU! π©·
The glass everlasting flower-filled baubles are now SOLD OUT!!
Thank you so much for supporting my small business this Christmas - every order really means the world π
If I'm able to source some more glass baubles, then hopefully I will be able to re-stock before the big day, but with the last post fast approaching, I'm not sure they'll reach me in time. I will keep you posted!
