Oof!! What an absolute corker of a night! Big thanks to all that turned up to support the Rising Stars!! You guys were a lovely crowd again, as usual, and was lovely to see so many familiar faces and new ones! 🙏

What can we say..? Didn't Andy and Missy do well?! Musically the evening was absolutely off the scale! Mercurial Virus delivered an absolute masterclass of a set and all the Rising Stars, Ben Harper, Chantel Ford, Natalia Dol, Maxwell & Gillies, and Tronix all rose to the challenge and delivered first class sets that just flowed together from start to finish. 'Natalia Dol is a rising DJ and music producer from Buenos Aires who is currently based in Paris. As an avid dance music listener, her favourite genres include uplifting trance, trance classics, and techno. Already working within the scene, she was bitten by the bug, getting her first decks back in 2022, and has not looked back since!

With a slew of gigs already in the bag across Europe, in France, Poland, and the UK, she is already in hot demand. With diverse and eclectic musical taste, this is reflected in her DJ sets which often blur the lines between, perfectly combining modern, classic and darker sounds.

Next up for Natalia is music production, and is currently working on her first trance track, so watch this space!' 🎵🔥🙌

Whoop, whoop, happy Saturday folks!! Mix #4 - Check out Missy's second artist selection guys and welcome Jasmine Lorna to our Rising Stars line up on 7th Sept!!

'After attending Creamfields in 2021, Jasmine Lorna was left feeling entranced by what she had experienced. After her step-dad Rich had told her to go and watch DJ Tiësto’s set, she completely fell in love with not only the sound of the music, but the feeling of being part of a crowd who appeared to be so wildly passionate about it.

From there, she began to practice mixing on some DJ decks but did not have any of her own. She would mix mostly house and EDM tracks, and occasionally would experiment with trance. In July 2023, she made the move to finally purchase her own set of decks, and began uploading recorded mixes to Soundcloud.

Particularly taking inspiration from Armin van Buuren, Tiësto, Billy Gillies and Ben Hemsley, the 22-year-old also feels very inspired by female DJs such as Nifra and Lilly Palmer.

After playing out for the first time in June, Jasmine is eager to seize any opportunities that will allow her to share her passion for trance music with others. She aims to create that same electric atmosphere that led to her love for the trance sound with her sets.

Scott Lewis, aka Tronix, at just 22 years old, is a dynamic and innovative multi-genre DJ from the UK, passionately specializing in the bolder and deeper realms of trance music.

In a little under two years, his journey has taken him from live streams on social media to commanding the decks at some of the most electrifying events. His online presence has grown quickly, rapidly amassing over 25,000 followers who are captivated by his unique sound and energy.

Chantel's love story with trance began over 20 years ago with her clubbing days spent in all venues of Goodgreef, Godskitchen, Crasher and many local trance nights in Manchester. She continued to follow trance with her journey into her Ibiza seasons never missing a Cream, Armarda or Judgement Sundays.

After stepping away from the scene for a few years Chantel, reconnected with the scene and her love for classic trance in 2023. Deciding to follow her lifelong goal of learning to mix classic trance, Chantel started sharing her mixes on Soundcloud in 2024 which have been really well received for their diverse track selections.

Chantel's main passion is classic trance and has found a love for producing mixes which take you on sound journey and helping rediscover many forgotten classics from this timeless genre. This set will be her debut and a lifelong dream she has been working towards.

Hey all! Sooooo.... The first mix Andy has sent over - his first nomination is Ben Harper DJ, so please join us in welcoming Ben to the team for 7th Sept! 🙌🤗

'Ben first got into trance in the mid 90’s at around the age of 15 through a few of his older friends. He then had his first clubbing experience at The Mezzanine in Wolverhampton watching Brandon Block and Alex P and from that day on he was hooked. He spent most of his clubbing years in and around the midlands, often frequenting the likes of GodsKitchen, Sundissential, Passion, Storm, Golden, Polysexual and Global Gathering. Although Ben spent a lot of time in the hardhouse scene, his heart always remained with trance.

Ben first got into DJing around the age of 18 when his best friend, Lee, bought some decks. They used to spend any spare time they had learning the trade. For the first few years, Ben wasn't able to afford his own decks but one day, on a drunken night out, he entered a DJ competition in a local bar. Not having decks of his own, Ben had to practice on his friends decks. To his surprise, Ben ended up winning the DJ competition and used the winnings to put towards some decks of his own!

Ben mainly played at house parties and kitchen raves, and had a few gigs at Blessed with his good friends DJ Dawson and Vaughan Murphy, but never really had the confidence to pursue his career any further. A few years later Ben decided to hang up the headphones due to personal reasons.

2010 Ben met the girl of his dreams Ella, who is now his wife, at a friend's party. Together they shared the passion for trance and started attending events again. In 2018 Ben decided he wanted to purchase some decks again and that was it, it was like riding a bike! Thanks to his wife (and his biggest fan), he got his confidence back.

Ben is now looking to get his name out there and loves nothing more than sharing his mixes with fellow trance fans. While he's happy playing to his wife and kids in his kitchen, he feels that he has what it takes to get a dancefloor pumping and truly believes he can take people on a journey with his sets.

Hey all! So, Rising Stars... An Update.

Firstly, we'd like to say a massive thanks - we are a little blown away by the response tbh - for all the support and interest!

Just a quick check of a few mixes by people suggested has shown this to be a very tough call! Andy and Missy certainly have their work cut out! 😆 To try make it fair we've decided that Andy is to pick 3 males, and Missy 3 females. Stay tuned on that... 😉

That obviously leaves one slot. There was one name that stood out to us... And, even tbh, we were a little surprised to see on there, as stretching the term 'up and coming' a little, because, as to those who don't know, Mercurial Virus has quite a comprehensive back catalogue of absolute belters to his name already! The whole team has wanted to see him play for ages!!

But we also believe to be a hugely underrated and overlooked artist, and can't believe he's not already on more big line up's all around the country so a perfect nomination in our eyes to be your headliner for this event, so a big thanks and welcome on board to Darren! We are also excited about this because we know that Darren does have many great tracks to his credit and will be on hand to share that experience help and tips to the less experienced artists. To say we are buzzing about this within the team is an understatement!! 🎵🔥🥳

We are getting more excited for this by the day, and look forward to seeing who Andy and Missy choose, but in the meantime, here is some laser p**n with Tom Etchells (who himself had previously played his first set out in this room and has gone on to smash them out everywhere!) smashing it out for us during his closing set the last time we got to play in this room! This time we are heading back to Sheffield to one of our favourite venues, The gorgeous House Of Hugo loft bar at Crystal Bar Sheffield!!

The team will be bringing epic lasers, but which breakthrough artists, currently making waves in the trance scene do you guys want to see play? Also if you guys could share this out so we get as many suggestions as possible that would really help. 🙏

Sean knows...! Absolutely buzzing to have Sean Tyas back in for our 3rd birthday in December! Those who were there will remember Sean absolutely ripping the place apart as our first Evolve headliner at our opening night in Sheffield, and when we told him we were doing a 3rd birthday event, straight away he told us he wanted to be the one to come play it for you guys, so who were we to argue with that?!

Sean Tyas began his music career in 2006, after Dutch trance/electro house DJ, Sander van Doorn, selected him as the winner of the "Punk'd" remix contest. Shortly after releasing his debut single and first #1 record "Lift", Mixmag & Beatport named him "Best New DJ" and "One To Watch," marking the beginning of Tyas' journey to becoming one of the most celebrated names in trance music.

Throughout the last two decades, he has racked up a multitude of landmark achievements, including a much-lauded BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix to his credit.

His musical output includes five mix compilations albums and an impressive amount of #1 hits, such as his unforgettable remix of Dash Berlin and Emma Hewitt's "Waiting," and his groundbreaking single "Seven Weeks," which spent an astounding 12 weeks at #1. So, with our next main event all the way off in December, and feeling a bit restless, we have been tossing about the idea of an interim 'Evolve:Rising Stars' event, similar to the one we held in December in Derby. We definitely have an amazing list of up and coming artists that have said they would love to take part in the next one, and due to our work separately as a production company, we have numerous venues available to us across the country...
