A lovely Service today at Trent Valley for a family I am so very fond of. It will sadly be my 3rd Service for them in less than 18 months…and even though I was due to be away with my young family, I of course wanted to be around to guide them & deliver their special Service.

I had a little friend with me just before I went in. Considering bringing him in next time to act as comfort for my families. He does give the best cuddles - which is exactly what you need in times like this.

Is there anything better than an early morning walk. I couldn’t sleep so took my little doggy out for a morning potter.

The peace is gorgeous and great for the mind, especially if missing someone close…

I’m still here, and still loving the green 💚💚

I am doing a little of my other career (digital) but still available to all my lovely families that need me. Here’s some things that have kept me busy these last few weeks..

Daughters wanting to take photos allll the time cos I have a new iPhone w a snazzy camera! Dog walks, business meetings & the occasional me time with a wine!

Hope you’ve enjoyed Summer Solstice week. I don’t know about you but I feel an air of change right now. And 2023….it’s been a long time coming 💚💚

It’s an active day our side for Fathers Day with an excited 5&8yr old who adore their Dad! A cooked breakfast followed by getting to Junior Parkrun for 9am!

Forever grateful for the Daddies in our life and the hugest hug to those that don’t have them here with us anymore.

As I’ve met families I’m surprised with how many Dads/ Grandads loved gardening…so when I saw this today at Markeaton I thought what a lovely sentiment for Fathers Day.

Take it easy today as you remember yours 💚💚. And if you’re lucky enough to still have yours here - then give them an extra hug, call…and if your estranged from yours, give ‘yourself’ the biggest hug because your strong regardless 💚

Straight back from holidays to a busy Celebrant week….Site visit yesterday for a lovely Service I have Thursday & I’m sat right now reading script for a Service at 10am.

I was asked the other day “But, does this job make you happy”….and you see it’s more than that..

This job makes me feel ‘real’, I’m truly helping my local community and giving back. The gratitude I get at the doorway after a Service is like a feeling you can’t describe. I don’t let it all in as it’s not ‘my sorrow or loss’ but I have a sense of duty and dignity to help everyone through a major life event…. So it’s doesn’t make me feel happy ‘let’s dance’ it make me feel ‘full’. Like I’ve contributed to something wwwaaayyy bigger than ‘me’

Hey lovely folks!

Sorry I’ve been a little quiet, a little thing called life has got in the way & these Bank Holiday whilst a ‘Billy Bonus’ really do impact momentum or knowing where you are!

So, I simply haven’t stopped building this Business since last August…The brand, the network, helping & meeting my lovely families. With 2 last week and 2 next week I realised I have worked nearly every school holiday since last year…..so I’m off for a few days to recharge. I’ve been so busy I didn’t even get to sit under my beloved Blossom tree this year with a cuppa before it shed its flowers given this bonkers weather!! And, I’m even finishing writing at the airport…

I’m off solo, to plug into the elements & away from tech & rest my voice.

So…see you on the other side, hopefully more fabulously energetic than before 🌸🌸 xx

Whilst on my Bank Holiday Sunday Wedding Anniversary walk we stumbled upon Club & decided to stop for a quick half. Then it completely dawned on me that I’m conducting a Service for an ex-Captain on Wednesday for a family that’s lived in Duffield for over 50 years.

It wasn’t the plan to go here, we’ve never been before but how fate & karma that it bought us here! I did a little cheers and in my head said “Don’t you worry Sir, I’ll do you lovely Service in a few days”

It’s little things like this that make me realise and proud of the impact I’m making and helping with in local community x

A change in the weather is a fantastic thing…a real signal of changing weather and happier times ahead…

But it can also bring up memories of a time you used to spend with a loved one, gardening together, cup of teas outside with them, the late blossom trees springing to life like the one you planted together all those years ago….happy but nostalgic memories that may just ‘get us’. It may even be the 1st Summer looming without your loved one.

So….take in these small moments, take a glance outside, have a cuppa in your garden & take it all in.

Be present, let the feelings just be & be kind to yourself 💚💚

I am grateful I get to experience my own Mothers Day with my two tornado’s! And that I saw my own Mum for a special day out 💚

However on this Celebrant journey I have helped many families say goodbye to their Mother, so I don’t take one day for granted.

All the love in the world to those who have lost their Mother, Mom, Mummy, Mam, Mamma, Step Mum & everything inbetween.

Almost six months since I launched my Celebrant business - branding, offering & ceremonies.

Yes I’d done Services before but launching professionally & promoting & investing in myself & my idea was a huge leap of faith & courage.

Luckily I have so many accolades, testaments & reviews from every single Service I’ve delivered - but this one touched my heart after Mondays.

It goes to show the care & impact I have before, during & after when meeting the families & just makes my heart sing.

I’ve delivered a couple of Services here last few days…it is simply stunning - even in the rain. Organising your funeral doesn’t mean Churches, old fashioned Crems….you can hire Event Spaces, attend a modern Crematorium for a special Service followed by a Natural Burial.. There’s so many ‘Funeral Ceremony’ myths & more options than you think to make sure you get the ceremony, locations and memories you & your loved one deserve. Off to a family meeting… Families always dread the Celebrant meeting before - it almost feels final. Pressure to get their loved one across in the right way, remember dates, times and stories…and I love like today when you walk away and you’ve all had a giggle. There’s a shared compassion, connection and it ends up being cathartic having spoken about a persons traits, one liners and life. Truly celebrating them 💚 You can feel the seasons changing today, brighter days as we say goodbye to January 💚💚 I got a very sloppy welcome home from this little monkey too!

Absolutely stellar week. New Family meetings & new connections made. Lots of hugs of gratitude after my three Services this week across two places & to top it off the Mayor of Derby was on the front row today.
