Kingfisher Farm Shop is famous for its home grown watercress. This family business has been growing this uniquely English product at Abinger Hammer since 1854. It is grown in natural spring water, which provides all the necessary nutrients without the aid of fertilisers or insecticides. The Farm Shop has become an increasingly important part of the business since the family started selling fruit a

nd vegetables in 1971 and the watercress shed at Abinger Hammer became the present shop in 1999. The shop provides high quality food for the discerning customer, sourcing as much regional and local food as available.

Burns Night, Saturday, 25 January

Neeps and tatties, we have heaps!!
Try an easy pud, Cranachan. Whip together cream, oats, raspberries and whiskey.

Want to decorate the table, the flower girls can help dress the table with thistle arrangements to complete the celebrations.

Raise a glass and…”drink a cup of kindness yet, for the sake of auld lang syne.”

As we step back to a more regular beat, look what we came back from this morning. Forced rhubarb from Yorkshire. These beautiful pink stems are much tender and sweeter than the outdoor rhubarb that arrives late spring.

Christmas decadence. Fill the fruit bowl with your favourite fruits for the festive period. Apples, pears, clementines, grapes and figs are all wonderful accompaniments to the cheeseboard.

In need of a fruit bowl we have the beautiful bowls in stock. We think they make a lovely gift too.
