Originally called the Caesars Palace Grand Prix, the 1st race to in Las Vegas took place back in 1981 and was won by the reigning champion Alan Jones in his Williams Ford! 🏎

The circuit itself is around 25km outside of the bustling city of São Paulo, Brazil’s vibrant financial center and amongst the world’s most populous cities. The city’s motto is ‘Non ducor, duco’, which translates as ‘I am not led, I lead’. 🇧🇷

With the Brazilian Grand Prix this weekend, 2024 marks 30 years since the tragic death of Ayrton Senna. 🇧🇷

He was a formidable racer who - at the time of his death - held the record for most pole positions with 65 fastest times in qualifying, a record that stood the test of time until Michael Schumacher eclipsed it at the 2006 San Marino Grand Prix. 🏆

As a pole position specialist, Senna’s quote “Being 2nd is to be the 1st of the ones to lose” is quite fitting. 🏁
