Rep - Tails Rep-Tails is a Downpatrick based mobile zoo with reptiles & invertebrates. Fully hands on. How animals form an important part of their individual ecosystems.

Based in Downpatrick, "Reptails" team have a passion for reptiles, spiders and many different creatures. We are able to offer a unique opportunity to have hands on experience with animals, whilst providing educational information regarding these animals and their natural environment. Since 1997 we have been displaying and providing educational presentations about reptiles, amphibians and inverteb

rates in various places, in addition to numerous events in schools, colleges and many other interested groups. Our animals have been carefully selected for displays and presentations, ensuring that they have suitable temperament for such work. They are part of a privately owned collection that has been built up over the last 20 years. We feel we can offer a unique way to educate in both the practical and theoretical aspect of caring for, or merely just appreciating, this often misunderstood but fascinating group of animals.

Delighted to be able to confirm & share more details about our 2022 Halloween Spooktacular ..

We have a fantastic range of spooky activities & entertainment for everyone including: Festival Marquee at Market St North carpark (behind Dpk bus station), Walk the Lecale Peninsula (ghost walk through Downpatrick), Spooky Trail (dark tunnel event & situated behind bus station), DJ DUFF, fancy dress parade with prizes (registration from 5.15pm then parading to festival marquee at 6.00pm for judging), Jenna Finnegan Dance company & Kasana Dancers dancing in the festival marquee, Rep - Tails reptile display in SPC, scary kids ghost stories in SPC, witches 🧙‍♀️ den & graveyard 🪦, undertakers workshop ⚰️, spooky games near the gate keeper 💀👻, spooky characters everywhere.. with some classy mini beacons lighting the area..

Our Story

Rep-Tails and Anthony have been displaying animals and educating curious minds since 1997. We are Downpatrick based but travel throughout Northern Ireland. We have been delivering educational programmes which are developed around the schools curriculum.

Education is something that I am deeply passionate about. It is vital to develop a curiosity and interest in all types of animals through learning about them, their habitat, their role in our ecosystem and why they are needed.

I feel that through an interactive hands on experience, there comes a sense of understanding and a connection. The animal is no longer something to be watched on a screen or hiding behind glass, the animal becomes real and admired. With knowledge, a connection and admiration comes respect and understanding.

Not just for the animal, but also for the animals environment.
