Author Bill Davidson will be joining us in Glasgow, Inverness and Dundee this year.
"Iām Bill Davidson, Scottish author of mainly horror and thrillers. I currently have three novels published (The King of Crows, The Orangerie and The Living Must Die) and a collection of āstrange and beautifulā short stories ā New Gods, Old Monsters.
The King of Crows is also available as a wonderfully narrated audiobook.
My debut novella āThe Story of Lifeā will be published in 2024 and Iāve had around a hundred short stories picked up by good publishers, including Ellen Datlowās wonderful āBest Horror of the Yearā anthology. Iām in Volume 11."
Joining us at Horror Con Scotland Dundee - Dundead
Dundead is Dundee's annual horror and cult film festival that takes place over four days in May. Thu 16 - Sun 19 May this year.
Running at Dundee Contemporary Arts (DCA) since 2011, the festival brings together a mix of previews and premieres of brand-new genre titles as well as specially selected horror classics.
The horror continues throughout the year with monthly Dundead screenings as part of the regular DCA cinema programme and a curated programme of screenings in October to celebrate Halloween.

As Neurodiversity Celebration week comes to an end. I want to share that all 3 of our Horror Con venues have a relaxed space this year. Marvelesque - Burlesque & Cabaret - will be joining us in Dundee this year. Chat to them throughout the day to find out more, and witness some horror themed "family-friendly" performances.
Marvelesque is a body-positive burlesque company based in Dundee who believe in diversity, inclusivity, and self-expression. Founded in 2015, Marvelesque has grown to be a recognisable name in the Scottish Burlesque scene with over 50 members in the ever-growing Marvy family.
Along with hosting regular classes, teaching the basics of burlesque and group choreography, Marvelesque also hosts a number of workshops a year, allowing people to hone their crafty skills in costume & prop making, organising body-positive photoshoots, teaching bio-writing masterclasses, and providing other unique opportunities to lean the art of burlesque.
Producing a few shows a year to showcase their sultry charms, the Marvelesque Halloween show is always a spectacle of glitz, glam, and gore. Embracing the spooky and the macabre, their Halloween show blends the gorgeous with the grotesque ā offering a dazzling display of Halloween pop culture icons, twisted versions of favourite characters, and brand new acts with delightfully dark overtones. This year, Marvelesque graces the stage of the prestigious Whitehall Theatre again for their not-to-be-missed spectacular of fright and delight!'
This is year 3 of Horror Con Scotland. We've gone from the top floor of a pub, to a hotel, a ballroom and now to the SEC where there is loads more room for growth and the hopes of this possibly becoming a 2 day event. As well as year 2 of Dundee and year 1 of Inverness.
Please remember that this event is run by one person (and not a rich person) or not a big company. I'm taking on a lot of financial risk this year, but I really beleive that this can be something great for the horror fans of Scotland.
As previously advised, this is not a "guest" only convention. Whilst we will have guests, we also want to give spotlight to film makers, prop and costume makers, authors, artists, crafters and other people working across all areas of the horror industry in Scotland.
I'm all for working together - not against other companies.

Greetings, Mortals and Magical Beings,
I am the Highland Hag, the mystical guardian of Northern Frights, a realm of wonder and enchantment nestled in the heart of Aberdeen. For eons, I've woven spells of joy and connection, bringing to life events that sparkle with the magic of community and shared experiences.
Alas, a wicked storm, as fierce and untamed as a dragon's wrath, swept through our lands, leaving chaos and despair in its wake. My cauldrons of fun and festivities were overturned, and my potions of prosperity spilled and wasted.
The Calamity at Hand:
Despite my most potent spells, the storm raged on, and our grand gathering was ravaged. Entertainers vanished into the tempest, patrons were scattered to the winds, and my treasure trove of gold and glimmer was depleted.
For more than a full turn of the seasons, I had been brewing and concocting for this fateful day, only to see it crumble like a castle of cards in a gust of wind. My heart, as ancient and withered as it may be, ached for those who braved the storm and stood by my side.
A Call to the Brave and the Bold:
Now, I turn to you, brave souls and kindred spirits, to lend your aid in our hour of need. Northern Frights, a sanctuary of dreams and delights, is on the brink of vanishing into the mists of time. We require golden coins to mend whatās broken and ensure our realm stays alive and thriving.
Every coin, no matter how small, will help weave a new spell of revival and resilience.

Due to the Amber weather warning there is a chance that the zombie training school may have to be cancelled due to the distance Scare Scotland have to travel.
We will provide a final update in the morning. In the instance where it does have to be cancelled, full refunds will be sent tomorrow evening.
