family and friends too. As a Fuze bride myself, I have firsthand experience. From meeting with you both for the first time, throwing around ideas on symbolic gestures like handfasting, or drinking from the quaich, through to being there for you both on the day. I appreciate how exciting each stage is and knows how wonderful it is to hear your own personal story as you make your vows to one another. The idea of becoming a Humanist Celebrant came to me as I traveled around the NC500 with my husband Allan and our 3-year-old Cocker Spaniel, Skye. As a couple, our joy of traveling around Scotland and its islands played an important part in our wedding ceremony. As we reminisced about how special our wedding day was, I decided that she was going to train to become a Marriage Officer. Humanist ceremonies are about you, there are no limits of what shapes your ceremony or where you have it, and that is a beautiful thing. The bouquet is a significant and beautiful part of a your wedding day! The fresh or dried flowers in the bouquet symbolise your new beginning in marriage.
The choice of flowers, colors, and style for your bouquet is a personal expression of your taste and personality. You can select flowers that hold special meaning or are significant to you.
The bouquet also enhances the overall look and theme of the wedding, from the choice of flowers to the bouquet’s shape and size. I have quite often had brides who also see their bouquet as a calming element to their day, they feel confident having something to hold as they make their way down the aisle.
Different flowers may carry specific symbolism. For example, roses often symbolise love, while lilies can represent purity. Couples may choose flowers that align with their values and the message they want to convey.
In some cultures, it’s tradition for the bouquet to be tossed to unmarried guests during the reception. The belief is that the person who catches it will be the next to marry. Today there are many different ways to include your bouquet as part of the celebrations. I recently saw a video online where the bride gifted her bouquet to her mother during the speeches which was very special!

The beautiful wedding of Kathleen and Paul at Lodge on Loch Lomond yesterday. The rain was bouncing but it made not one difference to the love and sheer joy in the Glen Luss suite! Kathleen and Paul are also expecting, so little baby Tunnah was with us on the VIP guest list! So special! Piper, the incredibly talented Kyle Warren Bagpipes played for our guests as they arrived and gathered. CIA photography were busy capturing their day unfold and little Bonnie the French bulldog was posing brilliantly on the aisle runner when I arrived! 🐾 Our fabulous videographer for the day was Unrivalled Videos 📽️Kathleen was having the finishing touches made to her bridal hair and makeup by Jade Hayter and Danielle Dickson Makeup Artist and she and her sisters (bridesmaids) looked stunning! Kathleen looked absolutely perfect in her wedding gown The Wedding Planner Helensburgh 🤍 Paul and his groomsmen looked super smart in their suits by Suit Culture The decor and bouquets were dreamy by The Flower Shop Helensburgh and the cake, spectacular by Kirsty's Kitchen Creations - Celebration Cakes & Sweet Treats 🍰 Kyle piped groom, Paul down the aisle with his mum Karen and our father of the groom, Paul (there were a few Pauls) with gorgeous Bonnie just before Kathleen made her entrance with her dad, Paul! ❤️Their ceremony was very emotional, we had a handfasting, our couple said their legal vows and exchanged wedding rings. Just beautiful! After signing the marriage schedule, Kathleen, Paul, baby Tunnah and Bonnie all walked out together! 🥰Thank you to the awesome team at Lodge on the Loch! @cassie.mcgregor, Eillidh and Sam, always a pleasure 😘A beautiful ceremony for the most wonderful humans! The absolutely brilliant wedding of Robyn and William! What a blast from start to finish!It was great to work with Lloyd and Euan from Lloyd Stevenson Photography 📸 and they had a lot in store to capture. In particular ring bearer Patrick who strutted his stuff down the aisle throwing petals from his bumbag! Brilliant 👏 Robyn arrived in a white stretch limo driven by the lovely Paul from Gibbs Limo Hire & Wedding Cars and she looked absolutely gorgeous in her sparkly wedding gown by Kudos Bridal Dunfermline. Her bridesmaids were stunning all in black gowns and the little ones so sweet in white! The boys were all dressed to impress in their highland wear by Kingdom Kilts. Hair was styled beautifully by Michelle clelland Hair and Leanne Logan, makeup on point by Joanne Melville Make Up Artist. Robyn was walked down the aisle by her dad and her eldest son, the florals were crisp white by The Flower Studio - Wedding Flowers. The decor gorgeous as always by oor Lisa at Grande Dreams. The spectacular wedding of Clare and Tim yesterday at The Balmoral, a Rocco Forte Hotel Edinburgh.Stylish and elegant florals brought the suite to life by Garlands Florist Edinburgh. The guests were from the USA, London and Edinburgh, and all were blown away with the views out over Sir Walter Scott memorial and Edinburgh Castle. The sun was streaming into the room too bringing a romantic and warm glow.Tim looked fabulous in his highland wear complete with his custom made black velvet kilt jacket by Kinloch Anderson. Clare looking simply stunning in her beautiful ivory gown by Jesus Piero. Her hair and makeup gorgeous by Natalie McKenzie. Balmoral piper Iain piped in our wedding party and Master of Ceremonies, Bob made sure everyone was where they should be! The spectacular wedding of Karen and Tom at Auchen Castle yesterday! Oh my word, what a magical ceremony we had! The warmth and serenity in the castle was just wonderful! Tom and Best Man, also Tom looked fabulous in their matching highland wear by Slanj Kilts and greeted the guests as they arrived to the sounds of the pipes played by resident piper Callum. Karen looked exquisite in her wedding gown by Victoria Robson Bridal and when I saw her she was getting the finishing touches made to her look by Elegant Bridal Hairstyling and Makeup by Hania💄 Little flower girls, Eleanor and Olivia were the most excellent helpers and they showed me up to the bridal suite to see their princess! The florals were to die for, all bright autumnal colours by Mountain Daisy Florist 🍂 I shared our couples magical love story, like something straight out of a romantic movie. They said their legal vows with a Campbell tartan handfast and tied the knot! Tom’s sister shared a beautiful reading entitled ‘All I Know about Love’ which was very special to our couple. THEN… I called our ring bearers forward and Pitta the barn owl flew in with the rings for Tom to collect!!! 🦉 incredible!Tom and Karen said their ‘I do’s’ and exchanged wedding rings. After signing the marriage schedule we had another reading by Jemma who read ‘You are the Bubbles’. This reading led perfectly into the couples’s toast with the quaich from which they shared their favourite drink, good old Irn Bru!Their cake matched the colours of the florals by @fatbottomgirls_cakes and our photographer was Duncan Ireland and on video we had Wooden Cinema Films 📸 🎥 The Jordan Murray Bandwould have everyone up on their feet in the evening! The incredible wedding of Ash and Owen! Well the buckets fell from the sky, but there was nothing that could dampen the spirit and joy of their day! Ash and Owen love whisky and good food. There was plenty of both, with a bottle whisky on every table, good cheeses, port and seafood platters! 🥃 🦐 Ashley looked absolutely gorgeous in her satin wedding gown by Justin Alexander Weddings, the back was all sequins with the most beautiful detailing! Her hair and make up, perfect by Gemma Taylor and Natalie Fearnley Makeup Artist💄 Owen looked spectacular in a full tweed suit from Campbell's of Beauly the florist, Sam Reid, had the venue looking fabulous in rich autumnal colours 🍂 Our wedding party made their entrance to the sound of Tom Anderson playing a very special tune entitled Ashley Fraser of Scourie. Early on in their relationship, Owen had commissioned Tom to compose a tune especially for Ash, so, so romantic! 🎻 Their ceremony was filled with emotion, I shared their fabulous story and they read the most precious personal vows to each other which had the room in tears! We had a handfasting where our couple tied the knot with a piece of tweed and Fraser tartan. They repeated their personal vows, exchanged wedding rings and I declared them as officially Mr and Mrs Brandie!! The cake was by Lana-Lou's Cake Studio and the Highland Fire Ceilidh band would have everyone up dancing the night away! 🏴 Our photographer was the fabulous Danielle Leslie Photography with her partner Josh on video!
