‼️ Notice of December 2024 Leave ‼️

As this remarkable year draws to a close, I have decided to take most of December off to focus on my health, my family, and the future direction of Hounds & Heritage. This year has been truly record-breaking, from the number of weddings we’ve been honoured to attend to the growth of our service and the relationships we’ve built with all of you. However, alongside these achievements have come personal challenges that now require time for reflection and recovery.

While I will still be available to fulfil any commitments for weddings and essential meetings during December, most other responsibilities will be placed on hold. This time away is much-needed, both to process the impact of my stroke and to recognise where my mind and body are urging me to pause and reflect. Despite the amazing strides made this year, I’ve come to realise that I have been pushing myself to a point where I am now feeling the effects both physically and mentally. Your understanding in allowing me this time is deeply appreciated.

The support I’ve received from so many of you has been unwavering, and it has meant the world to me. You’ve often described me as ‘some woman’ and a ‘Trojan,’ and these words have carried me forward, keeping me going on the hardest days. At the same time, balancing a desire to be fully honest with the reality of how that honesty may be received hasn’t always been easy. Part of this time off is about recognising that I returned to work sooner than I should have. While it has been a joy to be involved in each of your special days, this early return has come at a personal cost that may not always be visible. I need this time to truly focus on healing and growth, and I’m so grateful for your understanding in giving me the space to do that.

This December, I plan to immerse myself in the festive season, spend precious time with my family, and create space to reflect on the past year. I am also taking this opportunity to look ahead, ensuring that Hounds & Heritage is ready to serve our clients with even greater dedication and care in 2025. I am incredibly grateful for the trust you place in us, and my commitment to each of you and your pets remains unwavering as we continue to evolve. I am dedicated to making every experience with Hounds & Heritage exceptional as we move forward.

In addition, I am working on an exciting new project that I’m incredibly passionate about, which I believe will bring even more value to the wedding community. While Hounds & Heritage remains close to my heart, I’m thrilled to explore fresh opportunities that will allow me to serve in new ways. As I take this time to rest and reflect, I look forward to returning in January with renewed energy and insight to make 2025 an exceptional year for all of you.

Working with each of you and your wonderful pets has been a privilege, bringing countless moments of joy, laughter, and inspiration. It is these connections that drive me to keep growing and exploring new ways to support the wedding community. As we enter the festive season, I hope each of you has a chance to relax, celebrate, and cherish time with loved ones—two-legged and four-legged alike!

Thank you once again for your understanding, and I wish you all a peaceful holiday season and a wonderful start to the new year.

We’re making some changes to how we communicate!

Starting today, we’ll be turning off the Facebook messaging feature to streamline all communications.
We kindly ask that you reach out to us either through WhatsApp or email moving forward. With messages coming in from multiple platforms, it’s becoming increasingly challenging to manage, and WhatsApp is our primary communication tool.

Additionally, we’re adjusting our working hours to ensure we’re not answering inquiries and general FAQs late into the night.

🎉 𝗖𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝟯 𝗜𝗻𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀! 🎉

On August 18th, while I was taking a much-needed break, our business quietly turned three years old. It's hard to believe how far we've come since we first opened our doors, and I wanted to take a moment to reflect on this amazing journey with all of you.

𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗠𝗶𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀:
- 🐾 Over 𝟰𝟱𝟬 bookings (past, present, and future) since our establishment.
- 💍 Proudly supported 𝟮𝟵𝟮 weddings, ensuring your furry friends played their part perfectly
- 🏅 Honoured with 𝙨𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙖𝙡 𝙖𝙬𝙖𝙧𝙙𝙨, a testament to the hard work and dedication of our growing team
- 🚗 Travelled over 𝟲𝟮,𝟬𝟬𝟬 miles to make sure your special day is perfect
- 🤝 Held over 𝟭,𝟭𝟲𝟴 meetings with clients, planning every detail to make your day run smoothly
- 🐶 Welcomed amazing new team members who have brought fresh energy and passion to our business

This past year has been challenging for me personally, and I want to acknowledge that it hasn't always been easy. However, your support and the love for what I do has kept me going, even on the tough days. Your trust in us to take care of your beloved pets on one of the most important days of your life is something I never take for granted.

Thank you for being part of our journey. Here’s to many more years of making wedding dreams (and tails) wag! 🐾💕

Yesterday, I wrapped up my last wedding at the Sherbrooke Castle Hotel before i head off on holiday this week. It was a beautiful, relaxed, and intimate celebration with the bride and groom’s closest loved ones, including their adorable pup, Bonnie. True to her name, Bonnie was an absolute sweetheart, eager for affection from everyone she met. 🫶

The morning didn’t go entirely without a hitch, though. When I picked Bonnie up from the groomsmen at Pollock Park, I discovered she had decided to cool off in a patch of grey, powdery mud that seemed impossible to clean off. With the heat in mind, we shortened her morning walk and jumped right into grooming. Without access to a plug for the dryer, I couldn’t give Bonnie a full bath, so the grooming took a bit of stressful hour and a half to complete. ✨

Despite the hiccup, we arrived at the venue with plenty of time before the 3 p.m. ceremony. I had the chance to catch up with some of the main suppliers—Julie-Anne Whyte, the photographer, and Paul Browett, the celebrant—as well as the bride and her bridal party, who were all excited to see Bonnie before getting into their dresses. 💛

With about 35 guests, the wedding was wonderfully intimate. Bonnie charmed everyone as they arrived, and then we waited for her “mummy” to come down the stairs. Bonnie offered a quick hello and some comfort before the bride made her way to the ceremony room. The ceremony itself was short and sweet, lasting around 20 minutes. Bonnie played her part perfectly, delivering the rings and gazing adoringly at her parents as they exchanged vows. 🫶

After the ceremony, Bonnie was a natural during the photo session, posing like a pro. We then spent the rest of the evening enjoying cuddles until midnight when I handed her back to the bride and groom to say our goodbyes.

This was probably one of the only times I’ll ever hear a bride say she wants her dogs off-lead and able to swim freely on her wedding day.

Victoria was adamant that Jonty and Otis should enjoy the moment with her and Stuart. I even joked that I’d need written confirmation that she didn’t mind getting her dress muddy! 🤣

I’ve never been at a wedding where the bride was so unconcerned about getting muddy, wet, or jumped on. It was refreshing and so much fun!

They did their couple, dog, and family photos first, and then let the boys have their fun.

It brought a tear to my eye watching this unfold— as it’s such a rare and special moment.

Since they didn’t book a videographer, we made sure to capture these memories for them to cherish for years to come.

July was an absolute whirlwind for us this year! 🌪️ Last week alone, we had 7 weddings booked into the diary, including 2 at Lochside House, 2 at Lodge on Loch Lomond, and one each at Arta, Radstone, and The Cruin. 🏞️✨

With so many lovely events, I haven’t had much chance to update the socials or take pictures. With over 21,000 photos on my phone—mostly of other people’s dogs—I think it's time for a serious photo clean-up to make room for some more! 📸🐶

But before I get started, take a look at all the adorable faces we saw last week! 🥰

• Alfie the Cavapoo
• Toby the Labrador

A couple of weeks ago, I headed back to work with the aide of two of my fellow chaperones - Coopers Canines & All paw one weddings.
These women know just how much my job means to me, so getting back out meant the world.

My first job back was with Harley the Pug at Crossbasket Castle on 27.07.23. Harley was present for Meeting & Greeting Guests as well as Photograph Assistance, which was fair to say he absolutely blew out of the park 🥰💛 and seem to thoroughly enjoy being wheeled about on my wheelchair AKA his throne 🤣

My second job back was with Haggis the Cockapoo on 29.07.23 at Melville Castle, working alongside one of my favourite photographers Karolina Kotkiewicz Photography. This one was super important to me as I knew Haggis was a wee sensitive boy, hugely stemming from being a ‘lockdown’ puppy, and I wanted to make sure he had someone familiar with him for the best part of the day. We had to switch things up for Haggis as he couldn’t bear to be away from his parents, and the meeting/greeting seemed to make him anxious, so we kept taking him for short walks and chill-time away from the crowd to keep him calm. Thankfully, it paid off and the photographs have turned out wonderfully 🥰 although not every part of the day was achievable, the most important thing was he was there, and they now have the photos to cherish forever. 🥰💛

I’m back out tomorrow at Ednam House Hotel for Bear the Rottweiler, with the help of my husband Ste, and then again on Tuesday to Lodge on Loch Lomond for Alfie the Flat Coated Retriever with the help of my friends Vicky & Andy, and Chloe from Chloe’s K9 Kingdom. 💛

Just a wee collation of all the above, and again a huge thankyou to these wonderful ladies 🥰💛

Elene is starting to miss all of her pals at H&H 🤣💛
