Herbert Wigwe, the co-founder of Access Bank and the founder of Wigwe University, the CEO of Access Holdings, the parent company of Access Bank is dead.

He died in a fatal helicopter crash in California, with five others on board on Friday night. The chopper crashed near a border city between Nevada and California.

May his soul rest in peace.

The Elephant of Cote D'Ivoire 🇨🇮 struggled in the group stage of AFCON, managed to progress to the knock out stage as the fourth best loser, now they have defeated the AFCON champion the Loins of Teranga of Senegal 🇸🇳 to qualify to the last eight.

Senegal 🇸🇳 will face the Blue Sharks of Cape Verde 🇨🇻 in the quarter finals.

The Blue Sharks of Cape Verde 🇨🇻 defeated Almoravid of Mauritania 🇲🇷 to book their place in the quarter finals of this year AFCON.

Identifying some of weaknesses that continue to show in supper eagles games, even after defeating Cameroon in a resounding display.
1. We were again not really clinical in front of goal.
As Nigerians, we don't care to see from the eyes of the Cameroonians but had it been Nwabali was the one beaten like Ondoa was beaten by Lookman for the first goal, Nigerians would have been angry.
A fair analyst will agree that poor goal keeping was on display.
Lookman's initial hit of the ball, showed exactly what we have been suffering since day 1 - a lack of clinical finishing or simply poor last touch. With a goal wide open for Lookman to find an angle towards the point the keeper was running from, Lookman opted for the more difficult angle which resulted in the keeper having a touch on the ball. A touch that didn't stop the goal only because Ondoa was poor with his reaction. Ọnana had the last laugh since some nkwnssybhebwoukdnnave stopped the ball. That many believe the ball was poorly executed it self reinforces the non clinical touch of Lookman.
Another point of poor finishing came with Iwobi having the keeper to beat in a tight angle. Iwobi blasted wide when it was easier to test the keeper than to do otherwise.
The second goal again was poor goal keeping rather than clinical finishing. Ademola Lookman failed to spin the ball to any angle but only spin directly to the goal keeper (a poor ex*****on in the moment) but still scored because the keeper was not focusing on the ball but probably anticipating that Lookman won't shoot.
These were the three big chances we got yester night and none of them had a clinical final touch but simply a touch of luck.
The forwards still need some psychology sessions.
2. We still have only one active wing. Aina and Lookman did very well again on the right wing while Zaidu and Simon continued to be below par offering nothing upfront, while continuing to be shaky in their defensive wing play, hence inviting opponents to pick their wing as the best side to attack us.
For how long can we continue to escape being punished from Zaidu's weak showing, and Simon's total ineffectiveness?
How long before the coach realize that we will only begin to meet stronger opponents who will be taking note of the dead left wing?
The coach must address this weakness.
Not forgetting that Bassey once again took over the left wing and immediately destroyed Cameroon with one move - in the same game and wing that Simon and Zaidu toiled all night achieving nothing. Simon can not cross, dribble or make a run as a winger, why does the coach play him?

3. Another weakness is Iwobi's inability to bring a midfielder's own individual magic to the game. Once again, even on his best day in a long run, Iwobi stayed shy of testing the keeper from some very teasing positions on the box edge. Ndidi who is totally defensive in midfield do not miss a chance to attempt a shot when the odds favor it. Iwobi loses possession sometimes because he attempts to thread passes that the odds don't favor in some situations. While this is not a key weakness but shooting is something a central attacking midfielder can do when the odds favor it. Iwobi had very decent striking opportunities last night.
Sometimes these things decide a match that Is tight and deadlocked.
4. The substitutes are looking fixed and not really helpful. Let it be made clear that after 4 matches we have not seen a tactical sub to change the game but only seen like for like subs. We now know that Bassey will finish at left back, Omeruo as a fresh member of the centre back 3 and Onuachu as a forward to run down the clock rather than make an attempt on goal. Onuachu had a one on one yesterday with a defender. He lost confidence in trying to go for goal and chose safety by turning to wind the clock at the corner side.
4 games in a row, the subs are fixed. It is safe to say that the pattern will continue. This means that opponents can plan to sacrifice a player to take out one or two key players in our team, knowing we do not have tactical subs to make. Either our expected game changers from the bench are injured or unfit.
Paseiro has no substituted to alter a game if we are losing. Know this.
