Team Talk 5 // Denise Ford, Finance Manager

Everyone's best pal! Denise pays the bills!

Denise has been with Beautiful Events and Productions since it began
in 2017 and had previously worked with Peter for many years before that. Sharing her time between BEAP and The MGA Academy of Performing Arts, Denise keeps a keen eye on all our financial matters.

Denise’s key role for Beautiful Events Group is to look after all ingoing and outgoing accounts, book-keeping and liaising with all relevant government organisations.

Party at the Palace is one of Scotland’s leading independant family-friendly music events.
We are proud to have been involved in planning, delivering and managing this
award-winning annual event since 2014, and helping it grow in both scale and
ambition year on year. Each summer it attracts more than 16,000 people to
the West Lothian town, treating them to fabulous performances by the likes
of Texas, Kaiser Chiefs, Billy Ocean, Travis, Simple Minds, Chic and Nile Rodgers,
The Proclaimers and many more – and all with the stunning Linlithgow Palace as a
backdrop.

Team Talk 4 // Fiona Rennie (Fi), Web Development, I.T & YourTickets.Online Manager

Fiona joined Beautiful Events Group in 2019. She has been designing and developing websites for over 15 years and established the highly successful web design and development company Unavoided in 2012, which now has clients ranging from university institutions and councils to family attraction parks and event management companies.

Highly skilled in WordPress development, she utilises the core features to craft highly functional and creative websites. In the last 5 years Fiona has become a specialist in developing websites for many of the events BEAP work with. Key features include booking and ticketing systems, both for single and multi-day events. They range from 3 days music festivals with over 20,000 attendees, family event days with up to 50,000 attendees over multiple weeks, to local authority arts events that run continuously throughout the year.

In the last 12 months our ticketing system (www.YourTickets.Online), which was designed and developed by Fiona, have managed and sold over 100,000 tickets for events across Scotland.

Fiona is highly passionate about what she does and thrives on the challenge of successful systems development - the creation of bespoke websites to meet and exceed the needs of our clients.

Fiona’s roles within Beautiful Events Group include managing and maintaining all client websites and ticket portals, customer service and procuring necessary tech –
scanners, computers, servers etc. Fiona also heads up social media on our sister companies too! There is no stopping her!

This multi award winning boutique music festival is now in its 10th year. One of the UK’s leading live music events, the festival has featured headline acts such as Simple Minds, CHIC Feat Nile Rodgers, Kaiser Chiefs, Amy MacDonald, The Proclaimers, Billy Ocean, Travis, Deacon Blue, Texas, Wet Wet Wet and many more. With the addition of a comedy tent in 2021 and lots of kids activities, it has become a firm favourite in the live music calendar. A highly regarded event in Scotland.

Team Talk 3 // Ashley Gilmour, Senior Event Manager

Ashley was a Freelance Event Manager with 8 years experience, before joining the team at Beautiful Events Group, in 2018 and has never looked back!

While working for herself Ashley was lucky enough to gain a wealth of experience within all sectors of events working for high end clients, opening doors to opportunities she did not think possible, through passion, hard work & determination she continuously successfully grew. Clients include: The Scottish Government, Quality Scotland, Amateo, SCVO, The World Down Syndrome Congress, The Gathering, HIT Scotland, The Royal Botanical Gardens…. the list goes on.

Since joining Beautiful Events & Productions Ashley has worked on a wide range of events including award winning music festivals Party at the Palace, Party at the Park (20,000 pax at each); outstanding corporate events for Microsoft circa 600-1000 pax; awards ceremonies, product launches, large scale Hogmanay Street parties (Scotland), charity events, Scottish Press awards, corporate dinners, and balls, set design and produce “enchanted forest” light show events. This is in addition to national tours and productions across the country.

Ashley’s key roles within Beautiful Events Group include liaising all key stakeholders and customer facing services, logistics and travel & accommodation. And not to forget - office peacekeeper!

Meet the team - TAKE 2 // John Richardson, Event Director

With 30 years experience in the music and events industry, John has become a great asset to Beautiful Events Group since joining the company in 2019. His roles over the last 20 years have seen him producing award winning music festivals - Party at The Palace (2014- present), managing one of Scotland’s largest illuminated Christmas events - Beecraigs Festive Forest (2019 to present), co-producing Glamis Prom (2015-2018) as well as many other single and multi-venue events.

Prior to joining Beautiful Events Group, John had set up the very successful Boombox record label and recording studios in Glasgow. For over 15 years, this venture included owning three 3 successful recording studios and working on many successful music projects with various top 40 selling music acts. As well as working with other acts, he was also a recording and production artists in his own right and signed to various record labels over the last 20 years.

John’s experience across the music and events industry have also lead him to working within education; lecturing at various colleges and in secondary schools, delivering an SQA accredited course he wrote for s3 pupils who wish to follow a career in the events and creative industry.

With his knowledge and experience, he is a popular contributor to many industry forums and is often asked has to speak on radio, television and printed press as well as within various cross party working groups to help shape the future of the industry.

John’s roles within Beautiful Events and Productions include creative planning, procurement, event management and liaising with all members of the internal and external planning team.

Event: The Microsoft Burns Supper
Brief: To produce an annual event for the staff and clients of one of the world’s leading IT companies
Venue: National Museums Scotland

Every January, fans of Robert Burns celebrate the poet’s birthday with an evening of speeches, songs, good food and great whisky. It’s one of Scotland’s most anticipated annual events – so when Microsoft wanted to treat its staff and
clients to a proper Burns Supper, it came to us. We proudly delivered a night to remember, orchestrating all the traditional components from the Address to the Haggis to the Toasts to the Lassies, for hundreds of eager partygoers.

With Edinburgh’s magnificent National Museum of Scotland as the venue, we pulled
out all the stops, entertaining the crowd with live performances, pipers, dancers and talented speech-makers. It was so well received, Microsoft have retained us for six years running, with our Burns Supper growing in size and scope each time.

Team Talk / Peter Ferguson, Founder

Peter formed the Beautiful Events Group in 2017 with business partner and fashionista Gok Wan. With Peter’s 20 years of event industry experience and Gok’s existing portfolio of work, the company quickly built an enviable reputation throughout the UK for delivering high end, professional events to exacting specifications.

Peter’s experience within the events industry is broad and vast since forming PDF Productions back in 2008 (Now Beautiful Events Group). No event has proven too big or too small including; award winning music festivals, ; corporate events, awards ceremonies, product launches, large scale Hogmanay street parties, charity events, ship naming ceremonies, television production and set design and outdoor illuminated trail events. On top of all that, Peter and the team at Beautiful Events Group have produced touring musical shows, variety shows and a number of major productions for highly regarded entertainers across the country.

Peter’s experience has lead him to working with some of the UKs largest brands including Microsoft, RBS, Genesis Cars, Maverick TV, Stonewall, ITV, Intercontinental Hotels, BBC, Baker Hughes, Paragraph, HSBC and many more. He has also worked with many local authorities across the UK.

Peter was recently awarded a business excellence award at the WeDo Scotland Business awards in Edinburgh 2019.
