Have you ever heard a live orchestra? Did you know Falkirk has it's very own orchestra - Falkirk Tryst Orchestra? They are amazing and they are performing live, here on Sunday 15th December. Come and get in the Christmas spirit with them, it will be a fabulous performance!

23/11/2023

Why not fill Sunday 17th December with not one but two great local Christmas concerts: Falkirk Festival Chorus are performing on the afternoon of 17th December ahead of our concert in the evening. It's unfortunately their farewell concert. We are sure that they would appreciate a good send off and your help to raise funds for the Falkirk Foodbank.

Faw Kirk was the first church erected in the town of Falkirk, and is believed to have given rise to the town’s name! ⛪️

The grounds are the resting place of William Wallace’s finest knight, Sir John de Graeme, whose body is said to have been carried from the battlefield and laid to rest in the kirkyard by William Wallace himself! ⚔️

I had breakfast in The Fork and Mustard this morning and it was amazing, can’t wait to try 4 Coo Wynd!

As we have lots of new followers, we thought it would be nice to introduce ourselves again! 💖

Meet the owners 🤩

Louise and Edward were inspired to open a cafe after a trip to Australia to visit Louise's brother. A year later in 2017, their dream became a reality when they took over a unit in the centre of Falkirk that would become The Fork and Mustard.

"For a long time it was just the two of us working here. When you come in you'll notice that we've decorated it with a lot of things that are personal to us... trinkets and signs and Edwards military memorabilia. Things that mean a lot to us and that we get to share with our customers." said Louise.

Louise and Edward went on to open their second Falkirk cafe 4 Coo Wynd, in 2020.

"We wen't really looking for another place but the space came up and it was just the right place and the right time." Edward said.

Both cafes serve delicious home-cooked food, fantastic coffee, an abundance of vegan, vegetarian and gluten free choices and a Kids Eat Free Menu... so there's plenty of reasons to pop in.

Louise said, "We've been really lucky that our customers are so wonderful. We proud to be a small, family run business and I think people really want to support local businesses which is an amazing thing."

Jazz in Falkirk next Friday 27th October at 7.30pm. Come to Falkirk Trinity Church (pay at the door) to see Seonaid Aitken and her Jazz ensemble exploring the songbook of Ella Fitzgerald. The first half will be her piece Chasing Sakura which celebrates the Japanese Cherry Blossom Season. Seonaid has spent time in Japan, and when she was recovering from injury during lockdown, her recovery was helped by the power of nature.
