Yay! Wrap up—although apparently a heatwave is on the way.

We can once again meet with friends—up to six people, outside or in a private garden. Can you remember what that was like?

The Paella Kitchen is keeping track of the Government's 'Road Map' out of lockdown, and we're here to help you celebrate the journey with our great al fresco paellas, freshly prepared, freshly cooked, and delivered in the pan in and around Falmouth.

It’s the end of ‘Lockdown,’ and to mark the occasion we are giving away a 'Paella Valenciana' for two, with a bottle of Valencian Cañadelas wine… just incase you’re not quite ready to venture out in to the wider world.

‘Paella Valenciana'—the unsung hero of all paella. Valencia’s original iconic dish. Simple ingredients, incredible flavour. If you’ve not tried one before then this is your opportunity.

All you have to do is ‘Like’ this post and reply with a comment naming the colours in the Valencian flag. Clue: scroll down... way down.

Unfortunately this offer is only available to Paella Kitchen followers in and around Falmouth, but if you’re reading this, and live elsewhere, and would like to enter someone who does live in Falmouth then share this with them. If they’re not on Facebook then enter anyway and let us know their names.

The winner will be announced this Saturday evening 5th of December.

Good luck

Seafood Paella for two wrapped up and on its way...

But fish isn’t just about Fridays. You can enjoy one of our crackerjack Seafood Paellas any night of the week.

You might have noticed, it’s been a bit windy.

This year has broken the Atlantic hurricane season record with 29 storms to date since the beginning of the season on 1st of June.

The list of names assigned by the World Meteorological Organisation (WMO) to this season's storms ran out in September, and for the second time in the history of naming storms the WMO has had to move on to letters in the Greek alphabet. The last time that happened was 2005 when notably Hurricane Katrina caused the levees to burst and New Orleans flooded. In 2005 there were 25 forenames used and six alphabet letters.

This year we are already on the eighth letter of the alphabet as storm Theta passes through.

How does this affect your paellas you may ask?

If it’s too rough the fishing boats can’t go out and fresh Cornish fish comes in short supply, which is why we ask for 24 hours notice (48 hours for Sunday dining) so that we can be first in line for the catch.

The hurricane season finishes at the end of this month, so fingers crossed, hopefully there will be enough fine-weather windows to put Seafood Paellas on your tables.

Otherwise, in the howling wind and lashing rain, there’s always the Valenciana or Vegetarian options.

We are open tomorrow and taking orders for this week and coming weekend.

Lockdown No. 2

One week down, three to go.

Our ‘Home Dining’ paellas are usually only available in 4, 5, and 6 person pans. However, for the next three weeks, smaller pans are on the burner. All our paellas are now available in 2 and 3 person pans, with FREE delivery in and around Falmouth.

Because we cook to order using fresh ingredients 24 hours notice please, 48 hours notice for Sunday dining.

And remember: No washing up. When you've finished just put the dirty pan in the linen sack provided and we'll pick it up the following day.

The Paella Kitchen is open Tuesday to Sunday.

'Arroz Marisco'

Seafood Paella

£16 per person

Cornish fish (po***ck, haddock or hake), squid, prawns, and wild Cornish mussels, cooked in a saffron rice stock, with roasted red peppers, and garnished with peas, gamba (large head and shell on prawns) and wedges of lemon. Traditionally in Valencia the star of Arroz Marisco is langoustine. These are occasionally available in Cornwall (they're Scottish). Langoustines can be added. Subject to availability and market price.

'Arroz Verdura'

Vegetarian Paella

£14 per person

A selection of seasonal vegetables, together with mushrooms and roasted red peppers, cooked in a rosemary infused saffron rice vegetable stock, garnished with lemon wedges and asparagus. We do our best to use locally sourced seasonal vegetables. Of course, in the bleak mid-winter that might not amount to much. That being the case we shall endeavour to use vegetables that have only clocked up road-miles.

'Paella Valenciana.'

The Original Valencian Paella

£14 per person

Whole chicken thighs, and chicken thigh fillets, cooked in a rosemary infused saffron rice stock with judías verde (green beans) and garrofón (butter beans), and garnished with lemon wedges. This is a farmer's rustic paella; consequently it's not the prettiest looking, but it tastes fantastic, and has satisfied the Valencians for over a century. Traditionally made with chicken and rabbit, which adds another dimension to the flavour. Rabbit can be added for an additional £2 p/p. Subject to availability. (Rabbit may contain shot.)
