Awww, this is me with Stuart McGinley on Ryde Seafront back in 1993.

This week is the 30th anniversary of my first ever 'proper' radio show. Sounds of the 70s on Isle of Wight Radio!

This week we've also posted record breaking figures on the Wave 105 breakfast show.

We have the highest ever peak of listening for the station, it's at 8.30am thanks to the Guilty Pleasure (!) and a market share of 14.4% putting us 2nd behind Radio 4 and now clearly ahead of Radio 2 in third in 12.5%. In our target 35-54 year old market, Wave Breakfast is market leader on 12.1%, R4 11.2% and R2 on 10%. The show is also five times bigger than our nearest commercial rival, Heart.

I'm not one to brag, apart from on this post 😉

Thank you so much for choosing us in the morning, we are truly humbled. If I've learnt anything over the years it's don't change anything....ever!

Goes to show there is still a huge appetite and need for locally and regionally made radio in the UK. Long may that continue obvs!

On board P&O Cruises “Arvia” today for the premier of ‘Greatest Days’ an adaptation of the stage show ‘The Band’.

A superb performance by the stage crew of the ship and nice surprise Gary Barlow appearing on stage!

Have to say, it’s the best show I’ve ever seen afloat so if you sail on this ship in the future, you may het to see it too!
