Running 26.2 miles is never easy, but conditions in Boston today for the 129th running of the Bank of America Boston Marathon were close to perfect. Temperatures in the mid teens, blue skies and a gentle tail wind made life easier than it has been in recent years for the 30,000 competitors in today's race. Those conditions helped with some quick times particularly at the front where Kenya's John Korir won the men's race in 2:04:45, the second fastest time on the course, while compatriot Sharon Lokedi went one better in the women's division setting a new course record of 2:17:22.

We are now just over seven weeks away from our next UK event, the South Downs Half Marathon and 10K. Starting and finishing in Queen Elizabeth Country Park near Petersfield on Saturday June 7, it is a beautiful if challenging course with plenty of ups and downs along the way. There is still plenty of space for both races but the entry price rises at the end of April.

We are excited to be heading off to Boston on Friday for our annual trip to the Bank of America Boston Marathon. Among the seven races in the Abbott World Marathon Majors, it's always been the toughest to earn an entry to.
Truth is ALL the Abbott World Marathon Majors have become difficult to enter. Traditionally at this time of year we'd still have a good supply of entries to New York and Berlin, but they both sold out inside a month of going on sale. The TCS Sydney Marathon which joined the club this year, also sold out quickly and while we have a few places now available for the Chicago Marathon that's only because we received a second smaller batch of entries last week. Move quickly if you want to run this year's Bank of America Chicago Marathon.
As you are probably aware the Majors are expanding. Sydney joined in 2025 and there are now two Candidate Cities, Cape Town in South Africa and Shanghai in China, waiting to be the eight and ninth members of the club. Cape Town is on track to join in 2026 with Shanghai likely to follow in 2027.
If you want to run either of them now, we have hotel and guaranteed entry packages for both races for this year. Cape Town will be run on October 19, although it's likely to switch to a late May date in 2026 if it becomes a Marathon Major and the Shanghai Marathon will take place on November 30, 2025.

Congratulations to our clients who completed this weekend's Frozen Lake Marathon in Norway. Here's the official video from the race.

The only Abbott World Marathon Majors events we still have available for 2025 are the TCS Sydney Marathon on August 31 and the Bank of America Chicago Marathon on October 12. We have a couple of places left for both, but expect them to sell before the end of the month.
