1 – Choose your colour palette, it’s important to have an idea of your colour scheme for your wedding so that it’s cohesive throughout each part of your day.

2 – Add texture, all the different textures used to create a perfect table can be done subtly with the colour palette tying everything together. There are usually different textures in the table linen, napkins, runners, menus, place names, table numbers and glassware etc.

3 – Explore different heights, to make your tables more striking you could play around with the levels of your table elements. The most cost-effective way of doing this is to have taper candles and use various heights of candles. The different levels make the tables more exciting and breaks up the uniformity.

4 – Swap out standard to colourful. It is mostly standard for either venues or catering companies to provide you with white napkins, silver cutlery and clear glassware as part of your package. By adding charger plates, coloured napkins and upgrading your cutlery. Hiring at least one of these options will really help to elevate your tables from being more generic to have an impact!

5 – Decide on your table style. It’s important to know what type of table you are styling, a round table can be arranged very differently to long trestle tables. You might find that one type fits in better with your venue layout and style. We find round tables more formal and trestle tables more relaxed.

Think outside the box!

Instead of the standard seating plan you see at most weddings, I wanted something that our guests would remember forever.

Each guest had either a bud vase of a candle on labelled with which table there were sitting on. This was also personalised to fit with our cockney theme wedding!

Let’s talk about roses… did you know that white roses really aren’t that white?!

“White” roses are actually a more ivory/off white, with tones of either yellow, peach, or pink, so they are the perfect bouquet flower if your dress is ivory!

If you’re looking for a very modern vibe, then real white flowers work well alongside the white (which we know aren’t actually that white at all!) roses, gypsophila is a great example of a true white flower. Swipe to see this white tiny flower that is often referred to as ‘gyp’ or ‘baby’s breath’.
