We've just had Oakley our Giant Hooded Katydid out for a little wander - you'll be able to meet him out and about at our shows! 🦗 🍃

Did you know⁉️👀

The Giant Hooded Katydid, Siliquofera Grandis, is one of the largest species of katydids in the world, growing to an amazing 10-13cm, with a wing-span of almost 30cm! 🪽📏

Our Leopard Gecko, Mr.Meow, absolutely loves attention at our shows and sometimes even asks to be out of his enclosure! 🦎🍍

Did you know⁉️👀

Nearly all geckos have a voice. Though, Leopard geckos in particular have a small “bark” (or meow in this case!) they use if agitated but are not as vocal as other gecko species....so this is how our Leopard Gecko got his name! 😁

Negan our Argentinian Black and White Tegu looking gorgeous today while 'sun bathing' under his basking spot 😍⚫️⚪️🌞

Did you know? 👀⁉️

These large lizards can reach nearly five feet in length. Hatchlings display similar markings as adults, but typically have bright green heads. In the wild these giants of the lizard world are particularly important to ecology as their droppings disperse seeds within their habitats.

We got to have a hold of this quaking gentleman after finishing a few educational handling sessions of our own exotic animals at The Academy at Shotton Hall secondary school - absolutely made Shannon Bedena McGivern 's day!

We've just made and installed a custom faux rock face background to our XXL Argentinian Black and White Tegu vivarium - we think it looks EPIC!! 🤩

🌟‼️ One of our partners is 30 year old tomorrow... Bedena McGivern 👀 ‼️

And therefore our trip down the country starts today to pick up a few exotic animals, namely a Argentinian Black and White Tegu for Shannon's birthday as she has always wanted one 😀

We will be calling into a few well know exotics shops on the route Proviv Vivariums , Slitherin Reptiles Ltd , Riverview Reptiles , Internet Reptile Medusa Exotics Reptiles and Mansfield Aquatic, Reptile And Pet Centre we will be trying to get a few selfies with staff on the way!!

We are travelling down England this weekend from our base in Gateshead to pick up our newest editions and will be popping into some well known local reptile shops on the way to say hi!

Below is our Panther Chameleon who we will be collecting along the way - we've named him Meatball 😋🦎🍝

We've just done some scaping to our Blue Tongue Skinks enclosure, we think he likes it? 👅

Zim will be added to our licence and showable soon along with some other exciting exotics...

👀 ❓️ Did you know:

The blue colour of the tongue is produced by pigments called guanine crystals, which are found in the cells of the tongue and other mucous membranes. These crystals reflect light in a way that gives the tongue a bright blue appearance. 💙 💎🦎

We had an absolute blast yesterday at Whinnies Community Garden Open 1st April-31st Oct, Mon To Sat closed Sunday 🌈

A big thank you to all who came to see us and our animals friends (we are told it was over 500 of you curious folks!), we loved all the questions and all those kids who were brave enough to carefully handle our exotics - the next generation is definitely going to be a tough one! 💪

All though we tried to offer a varied animal show to all those of the 500 at the free event yesterday, each of our animals needed an appropriate welfare break between showings, so we could only have two animals out at a time to be handled and talked about, which means some may have missed out on an animal they were looking forward to meeting...

So if you would like to see, handle and learn about all of our animals, then please do book us in for your bespoke parties or events and you will get to meet all our scaly, wiggly and creepy crawly friends personally!

We've been putting in some training/bonding time with our Sugar Glider duo, Dougal and Flo, in our new mesh training enclosure.

So far so good, they are confident little creatures and we will be working on bonding with them in the coming weeks/months until they are ready to appear at future parties and events 🤞🐭🧡🍍
