It’s always good news when someone who’s seen you in action gets in touch - no need for a chemistry check - they’ve already done it themselves.

The celebrant has to chime with you and yours. It’s a special relationship - the intimacy of getting to know couples in order to craft the rightful service for them.

There’s an incredible intimacy in this shot too - bravo Fraser and thank you Louisa and Paul for trusting me with the heart of the service.

I love the empty space. In anticipation of laughter & tears, the fridges humming, my heart beating, knowing there are people all over the city putting finishing touches to speeches, nails, straightening ties.

And, you know, it’s a big deal, big day, once in a lifetime - such a crazy joy & honour to meet with couples and be trusted with their stories. To share them in front of lives ones. Setting a compass of promises as they set sail into the next part of their voyage!

In all of life’s crazy wild adventures - home and away - let there be love.

No more confetti for me - til March rolls along!

(Though I’m now meeting with couples to begin to carve and craft ceremonies for 2023!)

Next week - adventures in london with my little one and then rituals of other kinds at the Tramway.

For now enormous love and thanks to all the couples that have shared their journey with me and nourished my Welsh/Scottish heart with their love. Respect & appreciation to all the venues, suppliers, crafters, makers - dreamer weavers all!

There’s always an unexpected moment that gets me. An encounter with a very proud granny, a mum finishing off the flowers in her pyjamas, a nervous kid that delivers the text beautifully. The pride of an uncle, the row of bridesmaids in bits, the knowing laughter when a couple has let themselves be known and seen. It truly it an honour to stand with couples on this potent threshold. ‘Love is a verb.’ #bellhooks and I’m lucky to live it!
