On May 31, 1993, Oasis was scheduled to play at King Tut's Wah Wah Hut as an uninvited supporting act. They traveled from Manchester to Glasgow in hopes of getting a chance to perform. They managed to convince the promoters to let them play a short set after one of the scheduled bands. Alan McGee, who was at the venue that night, was so impressed by their performance that he immediately offered them a record deal with Creation Records.

This event was pivotal in Oasis's career, as it led to their signing with a major label and eventually becoming one of the most successful and influential British bands of the 1990s. King Tut's Wah Wah Hut has since been celebrated as a key venue in the band's history.
