A re-call to all you bass heads out there, GUNK is back for more….. in a new regular Bi-Monthly slot at Broadcast on the 4th Friday of the month. Expect some of the same belly rumbling vibes as our launch party plus much much more from across the spectrum of bass music from our esteemed residents. 🧃 MEET THE RESIDENTS 🧃

Community radio freak, international disaster, and taller in real life.
alexis is a Glasgow-based NYC export specialising in fitful, fluid, and fluctuating mixes. With monthly residencies on Subcity Radio and Radio Buena Vida, alexis has recently featured on the debut compilation of local label SLEEPIE alongside their partner Noble Leisure.

After making the rounds on Glasgow's DIY scene, including Events Research Programme and Asphalt Tracks, alexis is excited to be a part of the sludge behind Gunk.

With a love for the weird and wonderful, you can expect alexis to blend the atonal and ethereal with the upbeat, playful, and percussive.

🧃 MEET THE RESIDENTS 🧃

Hot on the heels of a Rinse FM guest mix, Marky Marbles joins Gunk's roster of residents. He'll be lending his unique blend of percussive drum workouts, club-ready grime edits, and soulful R&B bootlegs. Promoting under the Moniker Wax Rooms, he's warmed the floor for the likes of Rapture 4D, Bonzai Bonner, Solid Blake, DJ MM, Feena, Sofay, and scores more. Expect mischievous remixes, funky drums, and bone-rattling basslines.

Over the years, Marcus has drawn on a diverse range of musical influences with a renewed focus on bringing international dance styles into his orbit. His Subcity Radio Show 'The Future Is Funky' explores not only UK funky and hard drum, but also Brazilian Baile Funk, Miami Raptor House, Baltimore and Jersey Club, South African GQOM, and Angolan Kuduro. Recent outings at Midnight Bass have seen him blend soundsystem techno into warped iterations of grime and jungle. His characteristic UK funky and hard drum sets have seen him booked for local legends FUSE and Plant Bass'd, as well as Edinburgh-based events like Woodland Dance Project, Red Room Sound and Overground.

🧃MEET THE RESIDENTS 🧃

Corran aka Cozzy Osbourne aka Corran on the Cob aka DJ Goofball

Having learnt to DJ through Polka Dot Disco Club's workshops in Dundee back in 2020, she is lucky enough to have picked up a string of gigs round Scotland in the last few years.

From festivals to clubs to any other random function she gets asked to play - expect her to bring a bit of funk, a bit of junk and a whole load of Gunk.

Time not spent trying to explain to people what 'breakbeat' means is spent hosting her radio show 'Corranucopia', pulling pints at broadcast or wandering aimlessly around Dennistoun.

On our launch night Corran will be spinning a whole load of dubstep, 140 and breaks.

🧃MEET THE RESIDENTS 🧃

Joe Aka Temple Sniper.

Joe has been in and around the Glesga scene since 2017 when he and his mate Connor started the Legendary Syncopate at the legendary Flat 0/1 (RIP), and latterly Broadcast.

In the time since then he's established himself as a bit of a Jack of all trades in electronic music, with sets spanning the genres, but always with a particular love and focus for dirty UK influenced bassy numbers, particularly from the garage, bassline and UK Techno end of the spectrum.

More recently been busy doing releases on his noctambulant sound imprint, producing and promoting and playing some dumb fun parties with his better half under Glasgow Party Scum, and playing such venues as Room2, Berkeley Suite, Broadcast, Sneaky Pete's among many others.

He's also one of our resident DJs and ONLY resident aul bastard having just turned 32 at the time of writing. 👴
