BEAUTY IN SIMPLICITY. // I just adored designing this tablescape and putting together all the little details - starting with gorgeous heavy tablelinen, then layering an intricately shaped and textured 'geranium' charger plate which we framed with delicate silver and mother of pearl cutlery & fine stemware; on top, we placed a pristine pressed and folded scalloped shaped napkin, individually hand calligraphed menus with hand drawn custom monogram (yes! each one individually written, not printed), neatly hand tied velvet bows and topped off with a perfect orchid ... and that was just the place settings, wait until you see the flowers!.Design and planning .weddings.events

ICONIC LOCATIONS // For most people, the sight of their wedding venue heralds the start of celebrations ... but not for our couples. For H&N, the majestic entrance of the V&A Museum represented the culmination of 4 nights of events - each requiring months of detailed designs, a myriad of vendor emails & expert dovetailing of complex logistics - naturally all calmly delivered to guests with polished effortlessness.
Celebrations commenced on the Wednesday with a traditional ceremony & dinner for family and close friends at the townhouse on Pavillion Road, Knightsbridge followed on Thursday by private hire of The Silver Room at Annabel’s for a cocktail party; Friday saw both a welcome reception at Claridge’s for more than 200 guests as well as late night hire of the intimate private dining room at Mark’s Club for immediate family & the wedding party. On the day of the wedding itself, guests congregated at the Church of the Immaculate Conception (Farm Street), Mayfair after which a fleet of Routemasters took guests down to the Kings Road, where they enjoyed exclusive hire of the Saatchi Gallery for a private view with a Champagne afternoon tea; we then escorted guests back onto the buses for the short journey across Chelsea to the V&A Museum, where guests were then hosted to a canape reception, 4 course dinner & dancing. Truly the most incredible week and we are sincerely grateful to our amazing teams of over 60 vendors who helped create the most unforgettable memories for H&N and their guests.

CHRISTMAS WEDDINGS // This time last year, we were busy pulling together the final details for AM&R’s incredible winter wedding at one of our all time favourite venues, Claridge’s. We’ve been lucky enough to design and deliver a number of incredible events here and as a result, we are thrilled to be a recommended planner at this internationally renowned 5* Mayfair hotel. Not only does Claridge’s have a number of beautiful and versatile event spaces, and of course a range of exquisite bedroom suites, but the in house team are truly a delight to work with, and we always adore collaborating with them. Looking forward to being back at Claridge’s on Thursday for a meeting and to partnering with the team there again soon. This year, we once again have a Christmas wedding to look forward to, but this time at glorious Cowdray. Stay tuned for more on that in December!

HELLO YOU // Sharing a candid capture today in an effort to come out from behind the squares a little more often!!
I know I don’t share much about myself .. what do you want to know?! I’ve been in the London events world for more years than I care to remember (more than 20!) and founded Couture in 2018; career highlights include planning a wedding at which Prince William was a guest, planning an incredible teenage coming of age party with a budget of c£250K in less than 6 weeks and planning a 4 day London wedding for over 250 guests over 7 locations and working with over 50 national and international vendors but to be honest, we push ourselves to excel with every event we work on, so I enjoy a huge sense of satisfaction and reward from each and every event we deliver, whether it’s an elite dinner for 12 or a wedding for 270. I am passionate about my craft and am 110% dedicated to each and every one of my couples and private clients, I absolutely live and breathe every detail of their wedding weekends, probably more than they do! When I’m not designing and delivering, then I’m parenting my 3 teenagers or finding headspace through running or on my yoga mat. My superpower is my calm and considered approach to problem solving - demonstrated best perhaps by the fact that one of my children was born rather suddenly on a pavement, delivered by my husband, no fuss or drama, but that’s a story for another day!

BRIDAL ARTISTRY // We just adored D’s stunning bridal gown and especially her richly designed veil with its metres and metres of flowing tulle with its own incredibly intricate embroidery …
We loved how this design featured the intricate handwork towards the base of the veil, creating a seamless continuation of the detailed embellishments from the wedding gown and ensuring that the detailed artistry her dress flowed effortlessly into the veil … just heavenly!
One of my formative memories is of accompanying my future sister in law to a wedding dress boutique when I was in my early teens, and being totally enthralled by this secret ‘by appointment only’ world behind the heavy doors, and all the romance and dreamlike whimsy that went hand in hand with the appointment; from then I began to dream about owning a wedding dress shop … but life had its own plans for me and after university, I ended up forging a career in the London luxury corporate and private events scene for 20 years or so … but I’ve since managed to steer back towards my original teenage dreams now, albeit in planning rather than retail, but forever grateful to be part of this incredible world where creativity, artistry, details, logistics, problem solving and trusted relationships underpin everything we do daily.

RICH TONES // In these darker evenings, we are drawn to these richer, deeper tones and so today we’re sharing a throwback to this incredible set up in the iconic French Dining Room at Cliveden.
We have been lucky enough to design a number of super special dinners in this historic room over the years, each one so completely different in palette, accents and aesthetic, and each one completely unique to our couple.

CANDID CAPTURE // Love these unguarded moments of our beautiful Nazli, beautifully captured by earlier this year. Such fun working with Nazli and Rhys as we planned their Spring destination wedding in London for their international guests, many of whom flew in from Egypt and Australia to celebrate with them. We created a gorgeous secret garden inspired ceremony in Holland Park Orangery followed by exclusive hire of the iconic Belvedere for dinner and dancing afterwards - and lots (and lots!) of tequila!

ICONIC LOCATIONS // After more than 20 years in this business, we are proud to have worked at some truly iconic London locations including Kensington Palace, The V&A, Spencer House, Claridge’s and Annabel’s, to name but a few, and we were delighted when our American couple H&N asked us to find an incredible location for their relaxed, informal London engagement shoot.
As a couple they were passionate about art, and so were delighted when we managed to arrange exclusive, private access to the Saatchi Gallery in Chelsea, for just the two of them - and the incredible .
Later, we also managed to weave an exclusive trip to the gallery into their wedding weekend, as we once again hired it exclusively, but this time as the location for a Champagne afternoon tea for 250 guests which took place after their wedding ceremony at Farm Street Church in Mayfair and before the wedding reception at the V&A, Kensington that evening.

SPRING WEDDING INSPO // Sharing close ups today of these beautiful blooms which brought such joy to dinner back in dark, rainy January.
Senior Creative at Mary Jane Vaughan (and all round lovely person!) Anna Donner says of the design process “We loved the idea of creating a stylised and contemporary garden down the elegant long tables for this fabulous event – fresh, luminous, and evocative of crisp spring days. We chose contemporary shaped vessels filled with layers of soft ruffled roses, hyacinths and ranunculas alongside simple glass vases with the tall graceful stems of nerines, French tulips and poppies. CLEAN LINES // Embracing clean lines and a contemporary design aesthetic today as we look back on this beautiful dinner event that I was invited to in January. I loved this setting which was modern yet timeless, and which was composed of so many individually curated details - from the lighting to the linen, the furniture to the floral design, the canape and dinner tastes to the tableware - which when combined, intentionally avoided excess but instead were beautifully balanced and perfectly polished. A joy to experience first hand, thank you once again to my hosts for my invitation - and to for the images.

SMALL BUT MIGHTY // Sharing inspiration today for your - K&S chose to host 40 very special guests who flew in from all corners of the globe to witness their marriage; their day was the very definition of intimate but epic!
Hosted at one of the world’s finest hotels and featuring a boat ride on the Thames, a welcome champagne afternoon tea, a gown fit for a princess, a dashing groom, one of the grandest bedroom suites in England, a hidden gem ceremony location, glamorous nymphs with ostrich feather fans, a string quartet, a horse-drawn carriage, a duo of beautiful ballerinas, a live wedding artist, a rococo ballroom, luxurious floral designs, crystal and gold table settings, a 4-course meal, a 7-tier wedding cake, a soprano singing arias at sundown, theatrical late night cocktails and dancing into the early hours accompanied by a funky saxophonist.... this wedding was jam packed with exclusive guest treats and truly one of a kind experiences.

GILDED GLORY // This wedding was an absolute dream to work on from start to finish, and at the most heavenly venue on Regent Street in central London. J&B's aesthetic was modern, minimal and romantic and it was such a joy to dream up with the floral designs for their ceremony and wedding breakfast in this incredible Rococo ballroom. Our floral design boards of warm ivories and the softest antique pinks co-ordinated just perfectly against the golden backdrop, but I wanted to juxtapose the historic style of the room with more contemporary floral sculptures - and the lovely King of interpreted our design boards just perfectly to bring our ideas to life - swipe to see close ups of the gorgeous undulating and trailing floral installation that framed J&B as they said their vows. STUNNING ST GILES // Today, I look back on this most magical winter wedding ceremony at St Giles House in Dorset for one of my LA couples, who hosted an intimate wedding for their international guests. Despite it being a November wedding, we knew from the very first consultation that their dream was to have their ceremony outside, so we set to work and planned accordingly. After spending time distilling and refining the design brief, I knew that would be the perfect partner to bring my floral vision boards to life and she absolutely nailed it. Our only hurdle would be the weather and how unpredictable and changeable it can be at that time of year! Sure enough, on this day, during the set up hours, we went from cloud to sunshine to rain … and back again, multiple times! But we held the line (and our nerve!) and literally set the chairs out at the very last minute after a pause in the rain and a break in cloud, and our faith was rewarded when as guests took their seats, the sun came out on all its glory, making our setting absolutely sing. L&S had the most wonderful, romantic ceremony under the glorious winter sun, after which guests enjoyed Champagne - and hot toddies! - on the terrace. It was just magical.
