Our Story
Once upon a time, in around 1995/96, there was a Business Studies student who loved a challenge and was always asking questions. One night he was out with friends and stumbled across a pub quiz in The Mitre p***c house, 131 Earlham Road, Norwich, run by a great guy called Andy. He used to frequent the quiz every week, either to win or to drown his sorrows by playing the Cluedo / Who wants to be a Millionaire quiz machine in the corner by the bar. We then skip 7 years ahead to 2003 to Guildford, Surrey where he settled into a shared house and socialised by taking part in his newly-formed pub quiz team, The Round Table (we couldn’t find a square one). When circumstances meant a change of local to Rogues Bar, Guildford, our esteemed quizzer became even more interested, involved (and probably drunk) and eventually volunteered to take over quizmaster duties from a good friend of his at Rogues in 2013. Since 2013, he has run Rogues Bar Quiz nights on Tuesdays.
When the COVID-19 pandemic hit the U.K. in March 2020, Rogues was forced to close temporarily and their quizzes went virtual. Since March 24th, our student from Norwich has been running virtual quiz nights on Zoom every Tuesday and Friday at 8:30pm.
Now, ladies and gentlemen, we are in the present day. It is over to you to make more history.....
