Gate Street is a family-run farm & events venue, set in the heart of the Surrey Hills. Our regenerative farm is home to a herd of English Longhorn cattle, Lleyn Sheep, and Mangalitsa Pigs. We are passionate about rebuilding and restoring soil health and our aim is to produce high quality, nutrient-dense food from livestock reared within a sustainable agricultural system

Positioned just south of Guildford, our rural setting makes for an enchanting venue to host weddings, birthday celebrations, client workshops and team away-days. Due to its proximity to Central London, our location is a hugely popular filming location due its outstanding beauty. Just steps away from our venue is our family-run farm and a lot goes on behind the scenes to provide the fresh and ethical produce you see on our website daily. This month, we have produced silage from our grass fields, which will be stored to feed the cows over winter. A message from our farmer:

“It’s the time of year when things are growing fast, so the field topping has begun. Next year’s silage will be cut and baled onsite so that our cattle can continue to be fed purely on our produce over the next winter. Long may the sunshine continue, and may the farm enjoy it.”

Our cows at Gate Street are entirely grass-fed, offering numerous health benefits for both the animals and the beef we consume including leaner and more nutritious meat.

From helping with our countless and panicky emails, to finding a way to steam a spare shirt halfway through (we’ll exaggerate the blood for every year that passes and laugh more and more at the exploding pyrotechnics leaving Loveday looking like a scene from Carrie). On Saturday 8th June, we hosted one of the most remarkable events ever to take place at Gate Street. A celebration of life for Laura Farmer, wife to Steve and mother to Harry.

We are still in awe of the incredible party Steve put together to celebrate Laura’s life. Every detail was a tribute to their family and memories, from the bespoke cocktails to the children’s entertainment for Harry and his friends.

'A venue for all seasons set in the beautiful Surrey Hills amongst bluebell country woods on a working farm, with our hobby herd of English Longhorns looking on.' Gate Street Barn near Bramley, 5 miles south of Guildford, is built in the traditional style using wood from oak trees lost on the farm in the 1987 hurricane.

We are a private and exclusive venue with years of experience and ideal facilities for Wedding Receptions, Civil Ceremonies & Partnerships and other celebrations such as Wedding Anniversary Lunches, Birthday Parties or Bar Mitzvahs. Feel free to contact us over the phone or email to organise a viewing of the venue and our accommodation (due to the nature of the venue we cannot do walk in appointments as we are often booked for private events)
