What a treat! Our first event at the Food Festival.
All the girls at did an amazing job tonight. Every course had so much love and flavour. The lobster was so sweet and delicious. It really showed the true essence of the Scillies.

What a fab way to spend a Friday evening! Lebanese cookery course with the very talented Rupert Cooper! The layering of flavours with spices was superb, we're still dribbling at the thought 😋

Duck and Aussie shiraz!
Duck with garam masala and ginger sat on a bed of cumin and spring onion rice.
The shiraz was actually a great wine to cut through the crispy duck fat - lip smacking 💋

Lamb kleftiko (using our own lamb) and Greek Agiorgitiko! Think dried strawberry, plum, cherry with a good level of acidity to cut through the fattiness of the slow cooked lamb with oregano, rosemary, bay, lemon zest sat on a bed of potatoes! 🥰

Roast beef and Crozes Hermitage. French syrah - match made in heaven. Not as full on as an Aussie Shiraz, but still has the black fruit and good level of tannin to match the beautiful cornish roast beef 😋

Week 2
After a bit of a gastronomic blow out this week, a bit of good old roast pork was in order to go with a Patagonian pinot noir. Excellent partner for the crackling and soft pork loin! Raspberry, red cherry with very soft tannins 😋

Very lucky to have won in the auction back in June, dinner bed and breakfast at Harlyn Bay. Tied in very nicely with our 15th Wedding Anniversary ❤️
We were treated like royalty, what a fab place and everything so sustainable 😊
We'll definitely be back again!

Week 1 Georgian Saparavi
Well.....find a wine easy, second find a recipe to complement the wine!
Georgian Kharcho beef stew with almonds! Think mild Mussiman curry with ground walnuts!
Saparavi 🍇 - delicious! Young, vibrant, black fruit, low tannin. A winner!

You maybe wondering what Cornish Foodies are all about and why we have gained so many followers!? Well, we're a couple of food and drink mad peeps that had intended to start some supper clubs, wine evenings etc in the Falmouth area. However, due to a funny little bug that went round, moving house and starting a new job (in the wine business), it's never happened! But watch this space, as Master Brewer Mark and ex food inspector Teresa are planning their next move!
