New for 2025….🥁 I’ve launched a YouTube channel!

It’s possibly a little different to what you might expect. Rather than being 100% about growing the flowers, this channel is more of a meandering journey through my year. I want to share our tiny farm with you, where flowers, seasonality and nature are at the beating heart of everything we do.

I deliberated over the name of the channel, not wanting to call it Mellangoose Farm Flowers as it’s about more than just the flowers. So I’ve revived the name of a former blog I created when we first bought the farm ~ Simply Six Acres.

The first film will be live around the end of January but until then you can get a taste via my introductory film which is now available ✨ I’m excited (but also slightly terrified) to hear what you think!

✨WORKSHOP THIS SATURDAY ✨
Our dried flower wreath workshop is happening this Saturday 1.00-3.30pm and we’d love you to join us. There’s still a couple of places available if you fancy coming along to this lovely autumnal workshop.

Held around the fire in our Scandinavian log cabin, under the twinkle of fairy lights, this workshop is one of the most magical we offer.

Learn how to create a dried flower wreath which will last for years to come. Keep if for yourself or they make wonderful gifts for friends or family.

I loved creating Helen’s bridal bouquet and the flowers for all the maids, groom and groomsmen. Helen arranged all the table flowers herself using our loose DIY wedding flower buckets and flowers grown in her own garden.

Flowers for weekend ✨
This week I pulled out all the flowers from the tunnel, which meant I had lots of stems just begging to go into a large arrangement. The perfect excuse to bring out my giant vintage mantle vase for an autumnal arrangement.

Dahlia Day 2024 🌸 Today marks the official end to our flower season with our annual dahlia day workshop. 10 ladies arrived empty handed and left with buckets stuffed with flowers. Now that the dahlia beds are all green, I’ll be cutting them back and preparing them for winter ✨

Wow! Thank you to the gorgeous Frankie for sharing her beautiful wedding photographs with us.

Frankie was married in mid June and wanted a mixture of bright summery colours. I created a compact bridal bouquet for her with bouquets for her five bridesmaids. She also ordered lots of our DIY wedding flower buckets for decorating the wedding venue.
