HEY, HAVE WE MET?👋
Well, if we haven’t met- then Hi, I’m Schuggie, and I run the multi-award-winning Schuggies-Ceilidhs (it’s pronounced ShUUg- eee s – Kay-Laes btw🎉). I’ve been hosting wedding ceilidhs since 2012, and that means the experience of well over 150 in all sorts of themes and venues. This includes epic evening ceilidhs where we were dancing outside on the lawn until it was far too dark

to dance. Something here in the UK we don’t get to experience too often, either due to the weather or the midgies

Weather-Proofing Your Wedding: Backup plans and precautions.

☀️🌧️ Planning a stunning wedding?

Be prepared for any weather with these essential backup plans and precautions:

1. Choose a Flexible Venue: Opt for a venue with both indoor and outdoor spaces. This way, you can seamlessly transition your ceremony or reception if the weather takes an unexpected turn.

2. Communicate with Vendors: Keep your vendors in the loop about your backup plans. Ensure they're prepared to adapt to changing conditions without missing a beat.

3. Stylish Umbrellas: Embrace the rain with stylish umbrellas for you and your bridal party. Not only do they add a unique touch, but they also keep you dry and add a pop of colour to photos.

4. Guest Comfort: Offer cosy blankets or shawls if the weather turns chilly. Consider providing fans or handheld cooling options if it's a hot day.

5. Plan B Ceremony Space: Have a backup location for your ceremony, whether it's indoors or under a tent. Make sure it's just as beautiful and meaningful as your original outdoor setup.

💫6. Stay Positive: Remember, a little rain can't dampen your love or the joy of your special day. Embrace the unique atmosphere and focus on the wonderful moments you share with loved ones.

Come rain or shine by using our tips you can ensure your wedding day is perfect no matter the weather!

The emotional moment you walk down the aisle to meet your partner deserves an epic soundtrack.

You can expect a few tears when your partner sees you for the first time, and a few more when your guests catch their first glimpse of your wedding day look - but one thing that can heighten emotions even further is your choice of songs to walk down the aisle to.

All eyes on you can be scary, and having a song to walk down the aisle will comfort you and set the pace for your walk. When selecting wedding songs to walk down the aisle to, avoiding anything too energetic is always a good idea because it can make the moment feel rushed.

We’ve given you 4 classic ideas to start you thinking about but ultimately choose something that means something to you and your partner or a song you can both connect to for this special moment.

What song are you walking down the aisle to?

I’d love to know.

For brides who prefer hair ornaments over flowers, consider these elegant options:

Sparkling Hairpins: Add a touch of glamour with jewelled hairpins or rhinestone clips.

Delicate Hair Combs: Choose ornate hair combs adorned with pearls, crystals, or intricate designs.

Vintage-Inspired Headbands: Embrace a vintage look with embellished headbands featuring pearls, lace, or Art Deco motifs.

Statement Hairpieces: Opt for statement hairpieces such as beaded headpieces, tiaras, or metallic hair vines for a bold accent.

Crystal Hair Halos: Create a celestial vibe with crystal hair halos or celestial crowns for an ethereal look.

Minimalist Hair Accessories: Keep it simple with minimalist hairpins, sleek barrettes, or elegant hair sticks for a chic and understated style.

Choose the hair ornament that reflects your personal style and complements your wedding ensemble beautifully.

Setting your wedding table correctly is crucial for a beautiful and functional reception.

Start with a clean tablecloth and place settings aligned with the chair edges. Begin with the charger plate, followed by the dinner plate, centred at each seat.

Position the napkin either on the plate or to the left, alongside the forks.

Arrange the knife and spoon on the right, with the blade facing the plate and the spoon next to it.

Above the plate, place the water glass on the right and the wine glass on the left.

Add elegant centrepieces for the finishing touch, completing the perfect table setting for your special day.

Did I forget to add something to the list?

When your big day ends, you might find yourself reluctant to say goodbye to your beautiful wedding flowers💐💐💐

But don't worry; there are ways to keep those memories alive! Whether it's your bouquet or the centrepieces, there are creative techniques to preserve them for years to come.

‌Ever thought about pressing your wedding flowers?📚

It's a simple method that involves placing them between wax paper and heavy books to flatten and dry them.

Or, you could have them painted by an artist to capture their beauty forever🎨

‌Another option is freeze-drying ❄️ , which keeps the flowers looking just like they did on your special day.

You can also encase them in resin to create unique keepsakes like artwork or jewellery🌟

And if you prefer a more traditional approach, air-drying your flowers is a straightforward method that anyone can do at home🌪️

‌Remember, you don't have to preserve all your wedding flowers. You can share them with guests or donate them to spread the joy😍

Just make sure to store them properly to keep them looking vibrant until you're ready to preserve them.

‌✨Inject some humour into your vows. Share funny anecdotes or inside jokes that reflect your unique bond.

Yep, it's true!
Back in the day, people believed that evil spirits could enter the bride through her hands, so wearing gloves was a way to protect her🥊🥊

It's a bit spooky, but also kinda cool, right?
Imagine saying "I do" with ghost-busting gloves!👻

Today, I'm breaking down some important terms you might encounter in your wedding planning contract that couples may find confusing! 📝

🌪️First up, we've got "Force Majeure," which covers unexpected events like natural disasters or pandemics that could affect your wedding plans.

‌🤯Then there's "Indemnity and hold harmless," which means you won't be held responsible for certain losses or damages.

😉And finally, "Confidentiality" ensures that any sensitive information shared during the planning process stays private. 🤫

‌Understanding these terms is key to protecting yourself and your wedding vision.

Have you come across any other tricky contract terms?

Share your experiences below! 💬👰🤵

On the wedding day, couples debate between the "first look" and "first feel."

The "first look" offers a private moment before the ceremony, capturing genuine reactions to the album but may break tradition and add pressure to the schedule.

On the other hand, the "first feel" maintains anticipation, preserving the surprise for the ceremony, yet risks missing out on emotional captures😍

Each choice holds significance, requiring couples to consider their priorities and desired wedding experiences carefully.
