On Sunday morning last week, I had the absolute pleasure of the company of these beautiful ladies here - for a private cake decorating class.

They chose the piped cupcake class and we also created a chocolate orange pudding.

Thank you all so much for coming along to what was a fabulous morning. I was super jealous as they then went on to an afternoon tea in Mintlaw.

Just what a wonderful way to all get together over the festive period with family or friends and make it a whole day of fun!

Private classes can be organised throughout the year - whether it’s a hen party, a birthday, a friends and or family group, a club or a workplace (I’m happy to come to workplaces to do the class to if that’s something that works better).

Saturday saw the very first of the Christmas classes - where 7 fabulous ladies joined me for a super fun day of cake decorating - creating these amazing “Santa hot tub” cakes.

Sunday evening saw the first of the “Fun Christmas cupcakes”classes and it was a fabulous one!!!

10 lovely ladies came along and create the most wonderful cupcakes.

•••Chocolate orange Christmas puddings•••

These little lovelies are making a return again this year (due to super high demand again last year - and lots of people already asking when they can order).

They comprise of a chocolate orange, covered in maltesers then decorated to look like a Christmas pudding!

At £9 each they make the perfect little gift or delicious treat to enjoy!
(Even though the price of chocolate has increased so much I am keeping these at the same price as last year as I have managed to source the boxes and ribbons cheaper).

Orders are being taken from 6pm TONIGHT over at Cakes by Kirsty

They sold out really really fast last year so please get in quick if you would like some - I offered only 100 last year and they sold out in 23 minutes- so I ended up giving in and taking orders of over 200!! This year I have a LOT of classes and still a few weddings to do so I’m absolutely maxing at 200 - so please get in quick if you’d like some as once they are gone they are gone!

Collection will be from the shop in Oldmeldrum throughout December. Dates for collection will be posted on my page nearer the time. (But being at the shop most days - I can be pretty flexible).

Back to basics -

This is the most popular class that I run.

It is perfect for complete beginners who want to dabble in to cake making, it is also perfect for those that already make cakes but want to refine their skills and get a neater finish.

This class very rarely gets listed on my page as I run a waitlist for it and contact those on the list when I open new dates for the class. If you would like to be added to the waitlist- please pop me a pm. (Please note this is not the same as the mailing list. People on the back to basics waitlist are contacted by myself individually to offer dates available and they get the chance to book the spaces first - any remaining spaces may then be advertised on my social pages).

“BACK TO BASICS CLASS” £150
This class will take you from naked sponges to a beautifully finished blank canvas cake ready to be decorated.

You will learn how to cut nice even layers, fill the cakes with delicious fillings, use white chocolate ganache to create the perfect base, then ice the cake with plain or marbled sugarpaste and finish it with a clean sharp edge and an iced board.

A 6” freshly baked vanilla cake, fillings, ganache and icing are included as well as a box to take it home in. You will receive the recipes for the cake, filling and chocolate ganache.

All the tools and the equipment needed are provided.

Spaces are limited to just 5 per class.

Fancy a private class with friends and family?
That’s exactly what these lovely ladies did. They organised it as a wee pre Christmas get together last year, some of the ladies came from as far away as Sunderland!

Private cake classes can be booked any time of the year. Why not make a day of it and book a morning cake class then afternoon tea locally too! (Meldrum House Country Hotel & Golf Course and Barra Berries are both fabulous for this).

Today’s class was just the best with this lovely bunch! I had so much fun teaching this spooky Halloween cauldron cake and everyone left with a fabulous cake.

Vouchers can be bought for any value and are valid for a year.

You can buy them a gift voucher to use themselves or as a present to be used to come to a class together!

SANTA HOT TUB - bring your own fruit cake class

Limited to 8 places

This is a “bring your own fruit cake” class.

In the class you will cover your fruit cake with marzipan and then ice and decorate the cake. A box will then be provided to take your cake home in and can be used to store your cake until Christmas.

(If you would like me to supply the fruit cake I can - there will be an additional £50 cost for an 8” rich fruit cake).

Come for a fun festive morning with a pretty cake to take home to share at Christmas.

Halloween Biscuit Class

In this 3 hour class you will learn how to create these super cute halloween biscuits, this will include rolling preprepared cookie dough, cutting and baking them. Then icing and decorating them. (Recipe for the biscuits will be given).

This class is suitable for any skill level - and all you need to bring is an apron.

Back on the 19th of September I had the absolute pleasure of going to CNR in Aberdeen to teach a lovely cupcake class to 15 fabulous ladies, a class organised by the companies Sports and Social group. Here are the results and I’m sure you’ll agree they are brilliant.
