We are BUZZING this weekend to chat with new and familiar faces.

Find us all set up at TECA for Your Wedding Exhibition, 10am-5pm Saturday and Sunday.

Our stand at B10 combines everything we love:

❤️ Our design this year incorporates the colour of the year "Mocha Mousse" alongside pastel pinks and purples with some vibrant pops too.

Urns are so romantic, and pillars are a great way of creating a focal point at the end of your aisle, so we had to bring them along for inspiration.

Our stationery setup is straight out of our workshop, not only giving you a feel for our wonderful space, but repurposing for the weekend.

💖 Valentine's Day 💖

It's one month until Valentine's Day, this year it falls on a Friday, so what better way to start a romantic weekend than with a bouquet of fresh flowers?
We've been inspired by the gorgeous Aberdeenshire winter sunsets, and as well as red roses, we are also offering mixed wraps and bouquet boxes made up of blush pinks, warm peaches and dusky purples.

The 12 Days of Christmas

Day 12 ~ December

The end of the year, the exhaustion, the thank f**k we made it! But also the start of the next chapter. Now officially off anyone's payroll, it's time to put everything into building Paper & Petals into all that it can be. I have no formal plan but I do have some ideas about to come off the back burner so watch this space. If someone had told me this time last year we'd survive mandatory VAT registration and still have a client base, take on a premises and quit the day job, I'd have thought you were drunk, but here we are.

Thank you to all customers, suppliers and supporters along the way. I am especially thankful for all of the relationships that have been made and nurtured along the course of the year, it all adds to the journey.

Here's to finding my footing as I return to work tomorrow, a new normal, one with some resemblance of a work life balance, and also more time spent in the kitchen... Well we'll see, we're not talking about miracles here!

Day 11 ~ November

With weddings slowing, it was time to crack on with artworks from bouquets we had preserved. This meadow style is quickly becoming a signature style that I love to create. The best results are achieved with bouquets with a good variety of flowers, and the more you can keep them in water on your wedding day, the greater success we'll have.

I laugh because I took Fine Art at GCSE and A Level and when you look back at both exam pieces they are mixed media collages, and some things never change!

Jolanda kindly shared some feedback:

"I just wanted to say thank you so much for preserving my bridal bouquet. I absolutely love it and you've managed to capture it so beautifully - the frame is gorgeous too so pass on my thanks to your framer as well! We're looking to move house in the next year so I can't wait to have the flowers up on display properly then."

Day 10 ~ October

There were many beautiful autumnal weddings to pick from in October, but this stationery suite is a personal favourite.
Bows and pearls were both on trend for 2024 and Natasja wanted to incorporate both into her save the dates and invitations.

Each invitation was hand finished with pearl detailing and a wax seal with the couple's initials, was it pain staking? Yes! Were there close to 100 to do? Yes! But no pain, no gain!

Day 9 ~ September

I have so much love for curved wedding stationery and this cute set for Becca & Calan was a favourite of the year. It was great to see Becca only a few weeks ago making a Christmas wreath at one of our workshops ~ we love to see you before and after the big day!

Day 8 ~ August

Another beautiful month, full of stunning colour choices ~ we really did have an epic year for colour.

Allysha & Gregor celebrated at with a very paired back bridal party ~ just the two of them, and I can't say how chilled it was on the morning.

We FILLED the place with bud vases and I could wax lyrical amount them, but I'm going to let the stunning photos by do that instead.

Day 7 ~ July

July and August are always difficult months to pick just one wedding from because this is peak season and there are many wonderful days to chose from, however there can only be one and it is Emily & Blair.

Emily reached out so far in advance of her wedding with a Pinterest board of images from a wedding she'd seen with the most magical mix of pastel and brighter shades of flowers and declared this is the one, "I can't get this out of my head".
She booked me and I was super pleased to have this wonderful colour palette to play with.

We provided all of the stationery and flowers for this stunning day at Aswanley, showing how we can transform a wedding space.

Their beautiful doggo is also another Mollie, so there's a sweet spot too!

Day 6 ~ June

Back to work after some time off, I was raring to go for Jill & Euan's day and when I look back and try to put my finger on why it stands out so much I think it boils down to four key things:
1) Jill was genuinely excited to see what I would create, and she shared this with me on a few occasions before the wedding, I can't tell you how much this hypes you up. All you ever want to do is you best, but when your couple express their trust in advance it works miracles!
2) Jill & Euan are genuinely some of the nicest souls, inside and out, and that in this day and age is rare.
3) Raemoir House were super accommodating and helped out this lone ranger during turn around.
4) The flowers were bright, summery and full of personality.

Oh, and don't forget the slab of wedding cake we got when we went back on the Sunday to de-rig!

Day 5 ~ May

May was all about workshops and hen parties, and the odd day of Summer that we had all year! Whether it's a flower crown, hand tied bouquet, vase arrangement, wreath, you name it we would love to help you make it.

There were some heart warming moments working with families with sick children, some epic flower arrangements and countless laughs along the way.

Day 4 ~ April

All weddings and events aside, getting the keys to the workshop was hands down one of the best moves we've ever made this year. It's our little corner to create without worrying about needing our kitchen to still function the night before a wedding!

It's been wonderful welcoming couples and families for appointments, two open days and countless 1-2-1 workshops and events, and that's all in nine months.

We're working on a date for when we're throwing open the doors again in the Spring, but appointments are always welcome!

Day 3 ~ March

This is one is a no brainer. Hannah & Joseph's JOYFUL day in March!
I only got the call from Hannah on New Year's Day so it was a quick turnaround, but I'm so pleased I said yes!
I give you a feast for the eyes. The girls started the day getting ready at Kingcausie House, I was welcomed in by a very excited group and had to stop for photos with the bride 🥲
They all had different coloured dresses, but none more fabulous than Hannah's custom made floral DELIGHT by
The ceremony took place with a background of daffodils and cyclamen at the David Welch Winter Gardens, before partying the night away at Finzean Hall.
And as for the flowers, well just all of the Spring delights ~ tulips, daffs, poppies ~ it was special.

Day 2 ~ February

We kicked off our season with Alana and Cameron's big day at Norwood Hall and I really loved creating the bouquets for this couple incorporating soft pastel shades and seasonal accents ~ ranunculus, prunus, berried ivy and eucalyptus.

There's always a real sense of excitement coming back out of "retirement" at the start of a new season, getting the creativity flowing again.

Today was a truly special day at Pittodrie House. Our Christmas Wreath Workshop brought together a wonderful group of people, all creating beautiful, handcrafted wreaths using fresh, seasonal greenery.
